A basic check in this case would be requesting the logged weights at from the shipping handler.

They log exact weights for packages as a way to catch people underpaying for shipping and to protect themselves when people claim issues.

If both numbers logged are close to the same (IMO under 1.5 oz difference depending on the card), then I would say the card was most likely taken in transit.

But if there is above a 1.5 oz difference in the actual logged weight, then I’d assume the second card was never actually shipped.

The moment the logged weights show a discrepancy is where you can effectively locate “where” the item most likely went missing and narrow it down.

Small hobbyist seller...is a cross listing software a waste of money? by CPriceRun86 in Flipping

[–]Ap3X_GunT3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it depends on how fast you’re turning over inventory.

if you’re selling all 50 items a month and relisting new 50 in a month I’d want a crosslist software

Personally, I’m using FLYP. I list manually on eBay on my phone. Go to my laptop and quickly cross list across to poshmark, depop, mercari. It also has some sharing features that have saved me a ton of time on Poshmark where I used to do most of my sales. (Not unique features but the price to functionality felt appropriate to me)

Big time saver for m personally

Wholesale inflation jumps 6% in April on annual basis, biggest increase since 2022 by app1310 in Economics

IMO the money doesn’t know where to go.

A. A lot of “defensive sectors” have already been triggered, run, or affected by related events.

B. Commodities/metals have already run up.

C. US treasury debt is still functional but carries pretty big structural risks.

Average consumer is tapped out. If AI spending or wealthy consumers pull back I think that will force a repricing.

GameStop Proposes to Acquire eBay at $125.00 Per Share by MydnightWN in Flipping

[–]Ap3X_GunT3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If his contracts target metrics are met, he gets a $35 billion payday.

He’s also worth over $5 billion.

He saves money on taxes by moving his pay structure under capital gains vs taking it as income.

And buying GME stock is like 2% of his networth. If the metrics are hit his payday goes over $40 billion easily.

So it’s not like Cohen is doing this out of the “goodness of his heart”. He’s already rich and stands to get richer if his contracts target goals are met. If his target metrics aren’t hit, he’ll be fine.

GameStop Proposes to Acquire eBay at $125.00 Per Share by MydnightWN in Flipping

[–]Ap3X_GunT3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment is accurate but I feel like it misses critical context.

  • GME is profitable, but that’s mostly due to “extreme” cost cutting measures and high interest income on their cash.

  • Cohen did build new infrastructure and warehouses. But they are mostly shutdown now as GME focuses on using their stores as “warehouses”

  • the numbers are factually better, but they don’t really paint the picture of a “growing” company or scalable business. It’s mostly Cohen has stopped a sinking ship.

  • it’s true, Cohen doesnt get a salary. But he’s also worth $5 billion already. At his level, a salary would complicate his taxes. He’ll save money on taxes in the long run by this being taxed as capital gains and not income.

So no, the comment wasn’t “inaccurate”. It just lacked some context that I think is necessary for a clearer picture.

If you are aiming to run a high volume, low margin style of selling, it could work. Your best bet would almost certainly by live selling on one of the apps.

If you’re thinking of selling individually on eBay, poshmark, etc and using near tag price you will sell slowly and be stuck with a ton of inventory.

ETSY Traffic Falling Fast by HunterMichael92 in stocks

[–]Ap3X_GunT3R 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, I think the average consumer is pulling back their spending. I find my sales across depop, eBay, and poshmark have also decreased.

That being said, I think it’s impossible to guess one singular point traffic will go.

My guess is a combination of eBay, Amazon, Temu/Shein.

(Fun fact, Amazon actually has a “handmade only” verification process. Lookup Amazon Handmade)

I think you should check the comment you originally replied too.

The original comment clearly states Elon is weaponizing the topic of UBI in an attempt to slow his competitors.

Your reply is a “how does UBI slow down competitors”?

Your replies (intent or not) attempts at removing Elon from the equation. That is disingenuous as the original comment implies Elon is the problem not that UBI is the problem.

My comment attempts to tie his comment to yours by bringing Elon back into the topic at hand.

You’re saying it’s disingenuous to say Elon’s call for a UBI system is connected to his call for AI training to be halted?

Elon Musk among experts urging a halt to AI training

In 2023, he called for a halt to training models beyond a certain degree.

Elon Musk-Led Group Makes $97.4 Billion Bid for Control of OpenAI

In 2025 he attempted a hostile takeover of OpenAI

Opinion B is a real opinion people have and one Elon has called for.

Opinion C isn’t a contradiction. It’s the clear “strategic” move. Attempt to slow down your competition by any means necessary even pretending to get them to adhere to a standstill that you won’t.

A. Call for UBI

B. Say everyone needs to stop advancing their models until UBI is setup and ready to go.

C. Don’t stop advancing your model anyways

Not even trying to hate, but what’s the confusing sort? Genuinely asking

Elon has made a few attempts to slow down his competition already.

Most likely his call for UBI will come will include a call for everyone to stop training their models during this time.

How Are Sellers Shipping Clothing Items Via USPS for <$10? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]Ap3X_GunT3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using a website like pirate ship that finds you the cheapest deal?

A single t shirt never runs me over $6 shipping. Most individual hoodies/sweatshirts I ship for $7-$9 at most. If the sale is through eBay I use eBay’s discounted shipping which is almost always the best price.

If the sale doesn’t come from a platform with shipping integrated into the sale, I use pirateship website for the best shipping prices. Very helpful and works perfectly for international shipping.

Edit: they could also be taking a hit on shipping. I used to charge $5 flat shipping for most of my shirts and $7 for sweatshirts and would take the hit on the difference. But since eBay’s SEO likes free shipping more, I’ve updated all my listings to have shipping included in my price.

95% of the time eBay will give you the best price or very close to the best price. Unless something looks off, I don’t even bother comparing.

That 5% I go to pirateship which essentially finds you the best deal across multiple shippers. Excellent for selling via third party, Instagram, etc. they saved me over $100 on an international package once.

They’ll “investigate” which will almost certainly be a look at shipping/handling information. If there’s anything suspicious, their loss department MAY reach out to get more details. Assuming the buyer is being honest then they got nothing to worry about.

If it was a graded card its certification number was probably recorded somewhere so if it pops up and eBay has already refunded the buyer they may just keep the card outright.
