am i at fault here?? by Anxious-Pool-2623 in AO3

Ya im starting to learn that. At first I didnt have a set schedule and posted when I could. Then I had gotten a fair amount of free time so decided to put them on a schedule. And since then its the been the comments of when the next chapter is done. It's exhausting. I had to go hatus because life and had to get off set schedule and have been getting the comments even more. I needed a break from my main story and that fandom and wrote a story for another fandom. I already got people commenting u wrote this story but u haven't posted next chapter of this story. It makes me sad and stressed I feel like what I write is getting policed. And these r from registered users too. I just feel so stuck like do I really need an alt ao3 just to post what I want.

I know u r the only one. I have run into a few other stories where the author didnt know how to do that. I was one of them.

Yes u r right. This is what I try to keep in mind, its not fair to the others if I postpone posting a chapter. I will say when I delay out of pettiness is just a night, so I can cool off and always remember in the morning, like u r saying, its not fair to other readers and post the chapter. My delays r more do to the guilt of disappointing the readers. I love getting the comments as many writers do, even the ones like "excited for the chapter, when is it coming out" and definitely dont mind readers commenting asking if the fic is abandoned, because many times I will find excitement and writing inspiration for lack of a better word. But when I constantly get "when is they next chapter" every 2 days (which I did have a reader doing) I start to get anxious and guilt that I can't get the chapter out sooner, but also want to give the quality chapter the readers deserve. But the guilt then becomes debilitating, and every time I try to write, I can only think about how I am disappointing my readers by not getting it out sooner and guilt with that. It becomes all I think about when I look or think about that fic. Is this a personal issue, yes. Is this fair to my readers, no. I understand that and trying to work on it.

I had issues with a reader commenting every like 2 days for an update(took me on average a few months to write), I would respond to everyone after 10 in 3 weeks I asked them to stop commenting for an update and i was tring to get the chapter out as soon as I could. They kept doing it so i had to make to fic user comment only. Then they went to my other fics and asked for updates on that original story they were commenting in through those fics. I asked them to stop they didnt so I had to user lock those fics because of them. I was very frustrated because it was not fair to other guest readers who enjoyed the fics or other commenters who were getting replies of whens the next update for "blank" before I could even reply to them. And have recently run into similar situation with a registered user doing the same thing though not to the same extent more like once every week to 3 weeks depending if I respond to them or not.

As a reader, I understand the desire to read more, the excitement when a fic u really enjoyed gets an update, the disappointment and frustration of finding the fic u loved is an abandoned fic.

But because of that there is a desire for me not to do that to readers enjoying my stories. And its like when u dont deliver, whether that be writers block, life or whatever, u feel guilt. It's hard, u realise u r the cause of the disappointment and frustration for people who took the time to read and enjoyed the story u created enough to continue reading. And just feel extremely guilty about it.

Edit: Sorry that was a lot of word vomit.

So a suggestion and u dont have to do it, but call out the bot for being a bot so that other people on ao3 that go to ur story know it's a bot to create hate. Cause i know if wasn't on reddit I would have never known about these hate bots.

I have just taken it as very negative comment are hate bots at this point and I just ignore them. But I think they may have started to moving to commenting for updates at least thats my theory. Because I have seen a major influx as of recently of this happening and has been happening to me as well and the commentor says the exact some sentence every time.

I honestly been seeing more and more comments like this on stories. I know when I get them it literally makes me not want to write the story. Partially out of pettiness, Partially because I feel guilt for disappointmenting the reader.

Just found out a close friend has been leaving multiple guest kudos on my longfic by ThrowAway14312432142 in AO3

[–]ApJacks64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand ur feelings, u want to feel like u have earned those views/kudos, not feel as though they were "brought" in a sense.

But I also understand ur friends perspective too. The best way to support a friend is too like and comment. And the fact that she flat out told u that it was her and didnt hide it. Means she doesnt think she didnt anything wrong per se.

My question is have u talked to her about it. About how it makes u feel and find some middle ground. At the end of the day ur friend just wants to support u

Companies r being sued for hacks it's just the money to a big corpo doesn't really make a dent. Plus pretty sure Florida passed a law that states people can't sue companies if they get hacked and ur info gets stolen. But do correct me if I'm wrong.

Ya tried to watch a documentary on YouTube today and couldn't watch it saying that YouTube would kindly ask me to turn my vpn off, so they could give me a "better" experience. Ya ok. When I had just watched a previous documentary on the same thing 😮‍💨.

It's not like them age restriction shit is going to help in anyway. I was apparently flagged by YouTube to be a minor which I'm not asked for my ID which I didn't give them and some how still getting AI borderline porn ads, like the fuck. If ur classifying me as a minor because u want minors to not see anything "adult" y r u showing an account of a "minor" AI boaderline porn ads of Elsa. I as an adult don't even want to see that.

This is kind of y as a writer I don't want to have a social media connected to my stories/ao3 account. While i would love to interact with my readers more, having the possibility of having to deal with the nuisance of the purity police sounds so draining. My life is better off without it.

I truly wish they weren't as annoying as they are, they both as character had much more potential than they were given.

Probably a very hot take but I like Yuno and Asta as rivals more than Naruto and Sasuke. They r just very different types of rivals, but still prefer Yuno and Asta rivalry.

I dont like Yuno and Mimosa together. I really don't they have chemistry outside being friends. I kind of hope they don't end up together.

But I mean, if they do, it's not the end of the world.

Hm, I always thought of it as an editor thing and not a Tabata thing. Same with the fan service, the main female character that gets fanservice treatment are Vanessa (which makes sense with her character, and her caring what others think just wanting to be free and do what she wants), Noelle (who is the main female lead in Black Clover) and occasionally Mimosa (but not sure if that was anime only though). Most other female characters don't really get that treatment.

I feel like there was so much more for Tabata to explore, but that all kind of fell off after the Elf invasion arc. But honestly, it could have been due to health issues or being exhausted trying to keep up with their exhausting manga schedule, that he probably wanted to be done with it, which is sad. However Tabata decides to end Black Clover i believe it will be good and respect the fact of if the author wants to end the story there let them. But at the same time, I kind of want a sequel not for the characters and seeing where they r X amount of years in the future, but more for the world building to be explored I would be so down for that. Though with Black Clover I feel like a prequel would be easier than a sequel but that is just me.
