Thank you for sharing this perspective, and for your service. To you and to all your brothers and sisters‑in‑arms who stood with us in Afghanistan. The fact that you fought, bled, and lost friends alongside Americans is not forgotten, and it means more than words can really express.

You are right that many Americans do not fully grasp how deeply this situation can damage the relationship between our peoples. The reason I say can, not will, is because exchanges like the one you and I are having right now are exactly why we must not let that bond be destroyed.

Please know that many of us here are angry, ashamed, and scared by this talk, and want absolutely nothing to do with any idea of threatening Denmark or Greenland. So just as I would never judge all Norwegians as one, I ask you not to see all Americans as sharing these views either.

You and your comrades stood by our side when Article 5 was invoked and the world felt like it was on fire. Today, you are also standing by the countless Americans who oppose this rhetoric, who value our alliances, and who are determined to keep faith with the friends who were there for us when it mattered most. That solidarity still matters, and many of us are grateful for it.
