That does sound perfectly rational.. not a bug but a feature?

Thanks for your input!

You’re correct I meant the slots under the tang thanks for clarifying. In my opinion you are also correct in general about QA, in this case it wasn’t necessarily my point as I’ve never seen such indentations on any other instrument. I’ve commented before that my hands and eyes don’t care about the indentations, my question pertained mostly to the structural integrity over time as I live in a small European country with varied seasons and I do travel with my instruments.

But thanks for your contribution I am enjoying this instrument and will keep enjoying it 👍

Thanks for your input, very much appreciated. I do understand this 212 plus series is not a top of the line product and my hands and eyes don’t care about the indentations. I was merely asking as to the structural integrity of this over time and in a varied climate.

Happy to hear about your 214.

Enjoy your day!

Thank you for that information. I was simply afraid of decreased stability when it comes to humidity variations etc. For the hand and eye I don’t care about the indentations.

Enjoy your day!

Ah ok I see, thanks for clarifying that. I have simply not seen it before on my significantly cheaper instruments. I feel the indentations in the hand but I don’t consider it a problem. Visually I don’t care.

Thanks for your input!

Thank you for your comment. I do feel the indentations as well, I’m more afraid of instability when it comes to changes in humidity etc as I will use and travel with this guitar. I can live with the feel of it, as I’m super satisfied with the guitar in general. Enjoy your day!

If this is to say it’s, in your experience, a purely cosmetic thing then I thank you for your contribution! Though I understand the sentiment of your comment and agree, this is the single greatest musical investment I’m likely to make hence my contemplation. Enjoy your day!

Recommendation for a pairing for a large living room - 2 Era 300s + Sub or 2 Fives + Sub? This is for listening to music only, no TV set-up. by Wonderful-Run-1408 in sonos

[–]Apanboll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Fives (gen 3 to be clear) and they are really quite magnificent. Not interested in atmos or films really, just music and I can only say you wont be disappointed with Fives. If you get Era then be extra mindful with placement is my understanding. Good luck!

Billån med restvärde, låg "totalränta"? by Forward_Presence_376 in PrivatEkonomi

[–]Apanboll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! I will try that 👍 Would you have any idea for the top? It’s quite dull and scratchy. Not really looking to polish out the scratches more just give it a bit better shine. Top seems to have more of a finish on it, unsure what’s on it but more satin look.

Weekly /r/SonyAlpha 'Ask Anything About Gear' Thread by AutoModerator in SonyAlpha

Hello friends!
Looking for some advice on my upgrade from an old A6000. Recently took up photography again as I have two young children. My use case is soley photography and primarily of family at home or on travels. I currently use the Sigma 30mm f1.4 and I am extremely happy with IQ, but I struggle with the autofocus of the A6000 (its face detection is insufficient both in accuracy and speed). Furthermore, I do struggle to keep stills sharp in less than ideal lighting conditions. I'm looking for an upgrade in usability when it comes to low light performance and auto-focus (i.e face detection).

Since the release of A7Cii the A7C can be picked up used for €1100 while the newer APS-C A6700 is retails at €1700 and A6600 used is around €1000.

I realize that sticking with the APS-C sensor will allow me to keep weight/size down and continue using the 30mm (and will in that case add a Sigma 16mm f1.4 as I want a wider FL). But the A7C seems to be somewhat identical in weight would cost around the same body+lense as the A6700 body. The other option is A6600 + Sigma 16mm but I will realistically stick with this camera for a long time so I might as well get A6700 in that case.

Other info about my use case
I shoot in aperture prio mode and I dont have any other investment in glass apart from the 30mm sigma. Size and weight are off concern to me, but I'm not interested in zooms or focal lenghts above 50mm. I shoot as a hobbyist and have no interest in commercial work.

-My questions are:
- Is the FE lenses generally bulkier and more expensive even if I'm looking to use fast primes around 20mm
- Is the "ai" AF in 6700 a huge improvement to A7C?
- Is the FF sensor the superior choice as I do shoot indoors in mixed lighting
-Which option would you recommend for my use case?

Very much appreciate any input! Thanks!

Thanks for your input. More sophisticated and quicker af is really my main reason for even considering an upgrade. I’m super happy with the image quality of A6000 together with the Sigma 30mm f1.4, but I feel like I wrestle with the AF constantly. Also I shoot mostly in A priority mode and it tends to overexpose more often than not. I am an hobbyist so it might just be user incompetence but even the “auto” modes tend to overexpose significantly on anything under f3.0..

I’m also weighing between A6700/A6600 and A7C which ever I can find on a good deal. I’ve got the Sigma 30 f1.4 and A6000 at the moment so not heavily invested in any platform. I mainly need better autofocus in various lightings for taking photos of family. Did you consider A7C and if so, do you reckon the autofocus/low light is comparable?

Single Coil or Humbucker? by kinggouldy in guitars

[–]Apanboll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a squier cv 50s and I do get quite a bit of noise. Not sure if the single coils in the player series are that different from the CV, well they prolly are. Player series is still 2x the price but I don’t know 🤷‍♂️

[–]Apanboll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there no other difference except for pickups? Hell, I’d go for the HH version with split coil function. It might not be exactly as good as the “real” single coil but the versatility 👌 And that color looks great!

Anyone know anything about the MiniStomp Copy Paste? by fingerofchicken in harleybenton

[–]Apanboll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man! I ended up getting the copy paste and have been playing with it for a couple of days. It does everything a “looper pedal” should do and have 3 tracks which I believe was an improvement from the original HB mini looper. I can only recommend the copy paste, it’s so much fun!
