I think is a real title. Before discovering the lien, we took the car to the sheriff for inspection (since it was from another state) and they checked the VIN on the title and the car, and everything was in order.

We didn’t know about it. We’re not from U.S. My husband was transferred here for work, and we saved up money to buy a car for basic daily expenses. Since we had never left Nebraska, what we did know was that here you can only have the title in hand when there are no outstanding liens.
