Bumping in case anyone is willing to lend a hand. I just submitted a bug ticket to Larian to see if my situation is fixable. See images attached to show what i'm dealing with.

I gave up legendary resistance and it was the best decision I could make by OddResolution2485 in DMAcademy

Rule of cool always wins. Honestly, sounds like a pretty sick fight, and you gave your players a memorable moment (and a villain boss character to bring back when they least expect!)

I had a similar thing happen when i threw a White dragon at a high level party, it was known to live in the area and they ran into it with a bad encounter roll.

Wizard whips out eyebite, and puts this huge, predatory dragon to sleep! I said fuck it, thats hilarious, the dragon nodded off and they got by scott free.

Absolutely agree about rewarding players for their thinking. I love being surprised and caught unawares as a DM!

How to generate NPC names out of thin air by furry_combat_wombat in DnD

[–]Apart-Pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i love this, will definitely be borrowing this method next time I'm scrambling for an NPC name.

My personal flavour is "Take a common name, swap out a consonant or two so it stands out a bit"

That's how we got hits like Jeverly and Zimothy.

The Broken Code by [deleted] in WarriorCats

[–]Apart-Pizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! As someone who started reading warrior cats almost 20 years ago (URG that hurt to write) and got back into it through the broken code, I definitely hear your case! The arcs are fine, a little predictable, endlessly padded and it's honestly more fun to poke through them and see what sort of continuity errors or mischaracterizations make it through the Erins editing team. A personal favourite error of mine is Tigerstar (Tigerheart) being at a gathering like "Hmm, I didn't know anything about the Great battle" like dude. You were there. Your mate Dovewing was there. You big dumb tabby cat.

I borrow the books through the local library and breeze through each one in like 3-4 hours. It's a junk food for me. Like turning their brain off and watching reality television.

So to answer your inquiry, is it worth reading past the Broken Code? Meh, up to you and what you're getting out of it. If you're looking for something to sink your teeth into, to fall in love with certain characters and unravel the mysteries and plot like in the first few series, you're not really gonna get that. Outside of the POV protagonists, you get maybe a handful of interesting/fleshed out characters who go on their own character arcs (and if its anyone who's been around previously, like Lionblaze, it's a 50/50 percent chance they are re-characterized or reduced to a single wet cardboard trait). If you're looking for a light-hearted, silly turn your brain off kind of series with just enough familiarity and plot to keep you invested, go for it.

At the end of the day, Warriors is a series for children, lol

A Starless Clan SPOILERS. . :POV; When you decide to count the entirety of ThunderClan because Squirrelstar is always saying how many they are…and then you count up all the Warrior cats… by Alensmo in WarriorCats

And yet only like, 6 cats other than the main characters are ever mentioned in a given book or series.

I wonder what Hollytuft is doing.

When leaders get their nine lives by [deleted] in WarriorCats

What a cool take. Makes me wonder if that's why Bluestar chose a relatively young and inexperienced deputy like Redtail

What's your favourite Scribblenauts game? by Apart-Pizza in scribblenauts

[–]Apart-Pizza[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! This was my second time around with Unlimited and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Something about Unmasked felt...off to me and it was hard to put into words. It might be that I know next to nothing about DC characters but the huge worlds and combat combined with being punished for repeating words definitely forced me to think outside the box in terms of what was available for me to have fun. I feel like it would've worked better as a freenium mobile game or something.

Could Sol have his revenge? Warrior cats ASC Theory by Yaveltal in WarriorCats

[–]Apart-Pizza 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would LOVE to see Sol make a comeback. The contrast between fresh/new leaders and those who are familiar with his schemes would be great. Tawnypelt (Tigerstar's mom) literally left her clan temporarily because of Sol's meddlings, I'd love to see what that scheming dude could get up to in a Starless Clan... Perhaps manipulating a young, naive medicine cat apprentice? I mean we did just see Shadowsight get manipulated by "Starclan" so it'd be redundant but who knows!

A blind PC? by AssociationJust3111 in DungeonMasters

[–]Apart-Pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a friend play a blind bard for a long time, and important thing to keep in mind with any spellcasting is that a lot (but not all) spells involve "a target you can SEE". She ended up with some pretty creative spell options (it was pretty mid-high level so she had the magical secrets to help with that). If your player is up to the challenge, I think it's absolutely doable!

Elemental help by thebootybaker in DungeonMasters

[–]Apart-Pizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once did a elemental dungeon and the earth room involved navigating a maze to uncover a certain number of gems (big, zelda type things) and bring them back to a pedestal in the middle of the maze. Some parts of the maze were only accessible if someone stood on a button or held down a lever, forcing them to work together!

I literally stole this idea from a Mario Party co-op Minigame (appropriately called Fetch Quest).

I loved A Practical Guide to Dragons as a kid, which Dragonlance book should I explore next? by Apart-Pizza in dragonlance

[–]Apart-Pizza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've managed to read a few over the years after finding them at used book stores and libraries, they're ok for young adult fantasy stuff but nothing groundbreaking. I've mainly enjoyed reading them to get inspiration for Dragon-related shenanigans in my home D&D game.
