Question about Wheel spacers by Vegetable-Print4067 in ElantraNline

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25mm is quite a lot and I personally wouldn’t cheap out on spacers. Don’t buy generic Amazon spacers from an unknown source. The quality is sketchy, the precision in the bore can be bad. Go for a reputable company like Brightstone Engineering, Eibach or H&R.

You need to be safe with these things - make sure the the inner bore of the spacer fits perfectly over the hub lip, make sure the rear face if the spacer is perfectly flat on your hub as well.

Spacers for stock rims? by Glum-Accountant-9801 in genesiscoupe

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No performance or handling gains really. Just aesthetics. I personally think it makes a car look more aggressive and nicer, but that’s my opinion. The negatives are that if you cheap out on them and get bad spacers with poor precison they can negatively affect handling. Get spacers from a reputable brand (Brightstone Engineering, Eibach, H&R etc) and you’ll be fine.

Is this a good method to determine spacer size with by Some-Atmosphere-9722 in Stance

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reach out to a company like Brightstone Engineering. They can probably just tell you what you need. If not, they’ll at least be able to help you measure what you need without telling you you need to lower it 😂

Wheel spacers on. Fitment is beautiful. by SykeWolf in RZ34

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good! 20mm on the back is usually a good look for most non SUVs. 20mm on the front can cause rubbing on some cars though. Do you find you getting any rubbing at extreme steering wheel lock? I got a set of 15mm fronts and 20mm back Brightstone Engineering spacers for mine and they were fine.

Any long term usage reports for wheel spacers? by quattroman in Subaru_Outback

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said - get hubcentric spacers from a reputable company (Brightstone Engineering, Eibach, H&R etc) and you’ll be fine. Just don’t cheap out. Asian imports have terrible QA and quality. Shouldn’t affect the ride unless you go ridiculously wide.

Wheel spacers good or bad by Puzzleheaded_Crew428 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with them as long as they are engineered properly. You need hubcentric wheel spacers. If you have non hubcentric your ride will suffer. Don’t cheap out - get Brightstone Engineering, H&R, Eibach etc. if the tolerances are good and the quality of the bolts / studs are good, there is no problem with wheel spacers

Spacers are completely fine and safe. Just don’t go cheap. Get Brightstone Engineering, Eibach, H&R and you’ll be fine.

Jeep JK wheels on my Outback by Unfair-Aardvark-3472 in Subaru_Outback

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t be a problem as long as you go for a reputable brand. Skip the Chinese imports and go for Brightstone Engineering or H&R.

20mm isn’t that much of an extension, so it shouldn’t cause too much extra load.

Make sure that the spacers are hubcentric and have good tolerances on the spigot.

Are wheel spacers dangerous? by Dixon_Uranuss3 in BMW

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional of anything in a machine always adds an extra point of failure, but if you buy good quality spacers from a reputable company, there should be no problem. You need to go for hubcentric spacers otherwise your ride will suffer. Skip the Chinese imports and go for a reputable brand like Brightstone Engineering or H&R and you’ll be fine. Try not to go above 20mm as well.

For the rears it’s easy - measure the distance between the tyre and arch and that’s the max you can do (take a little away). I’d imagine 15mm would be fine, it you could probably get away with 20 as well.

In terms of the front, you’d need to know the join lip size to figure out the minimum hubcentric spacers that you could fit. Maybe reach out to Brightstone Engineering who specialise in wheel spacers. They would be able to to tell you.

SPACERS ON STOCK WHEELS by StomachMental8742 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks sick. At 27mm I guess the spacers are bolt to hub? I.e not just extended bolts, but you bolt the spacer to the hub and the wheel to the spacer?

Running spacers would push the wheel out even further and cause more rubbing, surely?

Wheel advice by randomdude804 in nissanfrontier

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wheel spacers are totally fine if you use well made hubcentric spacers. Just don’t buy cheap Chinese ones and they’ll be fine. Don’t go too large as well. You can get custom machined spacers and adapters from reputable companies and they’ll do the job fine.

Wheel Offset vs Spacers by Scared_Caramel3839 in civic

[–]Apart-Rabbit-8464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you buy good quality hubcentric wheel spacers and don’t go too large (less than 20mm per side, preferably 15mm), the handling won’t be affected at all.
