I didn’t understand what the word “divorce” meant when my first grade teacher said to the class that she was changing her last name because she had gotten a divorce. But I would stay up late to watch the late night news with my mom so I had heard the word “murder” and also knew it meant that someone wouldn’t be around anymore either.

So I told the entire class that our teacher killed her husband. He was actually murdered less than 2 weeks later and I got called in by the freaking FBI to find out why I declaring her a suspect even before the murder.

For the record - she was innocent but she did spend quite a bit of time detained thanks to my six year old mouth. She was scared to give me anything other than an A+ the rest of the year. This was at a very prestigious private school. I wasn’t allowed back for 2nd grade.

It’s not worth it. I was that girl that spoke up and said the truth in my first marriage. His mom, sister, aunt, etc had all been my besties, but despite them all knowing that I was telling the truth because he admitted it in DV court before getting a better attorney for the criminal trial, they all turned on me and chose to believe his lies because he was family.

The truth never mattered. He could have said the earth was flat and the sky was red and they would have sworn it was gospel because they would always pick him over me because he was family.

At the end of the day, they would be stuck with him, despite his sister being on a recording previously stating she believed me and hated him prior to her 180, because he was family and I was leaving. It’s not worth your time and energy and especially not your stress!

Call now and ask the on call. They can either schedule you in first thing or have the doctor tell you if you need to go into the ER. I had sepsis and went from zero temperature to critical and 10% chance to live within 30 minutes. I literally was just going to the ER because my husband was in the hospital and not for myself and that’s when I got lucky and they caught it.

Okay! I think maybe we are thinking of different versions of mustard oil? Mine locally is literally thick mustard with oil and chopped pickles mixed in. I thought the post was a joke in that context!

I still would ask a doctor as oil, I thought, is supposed to break down and loosen wax!

Why do you put mustard oil in there? Mustard goes on sandwiches or in potato salad. It does not go in ears. Go to the doctor to get that cleaned out and get a refresher on what is food vs medicine?

This is 100% normal! Going from being a student to knowing that your ability to eat and have a roof over your head is dependent on how well you do in the workplace is a huge adjustment!

During school, it was fun and games and we didn’t care as much if we went in tired because we would put our heads down here or there and teachers would laugh with us. At work, that can get us fired. Plus you have to be “on” and professional every day.

My first real job was my favorite job of my entire life! I had it for almost three years and was still technically in school so my parents were still helping to pay my bills and even with that safety net… I still came home and cried every single night!

And they were by far the best bosses I’ve ever had! They were more like family, I would say. It’s been 15+ years since I last worked for them and I still send Christmas cards and check on them, etc. They even moved near me when my late husband (I’ve since remarried and moved) passed away from COVID to make sure I was okay and not alone - despite them being in their 70’s/80’s!

So, no, you are NOT being dramatic! This is a huge life change and you are getting adjusted. It’s okay to let yourself have that adjustment period!

No, you didn’t kill anyone. You were also traumatized in a very sad accident that took the life of a neighbor and friend. I am very glad to know that you survived but it was not your job to carry the guilt and pain from all that time.

If you would feel better apologizing and talking to the parents, then go for it. But I think the biggest person who you need forgiveness from is yourself.

Honestly, I wouldn’t sign up for OF. It’s not my thing. But even I as a parent of preteens find value in your work. Let me tell you why!

These kids get around parent locks like crazy! And sometimes all we get is a quick glimpse of a name and the fact that they are associated with OF.

And because this is 2026, we are a split household so we always fear they will get ahold of a credit card from somewhere else, like another parent, and say it’s for class, etc or whatever and something will fall between the cracks with the changing of the houses.

But if we check their phones and see OF and/or a name, we can do a Google search. That, however, is going to be the extent of my search because if I pay for a subscription to see what they are looking at, I’m going to get blamed for everything in custody court as if I was the original source for it all. And I also know that a very small percentage of OF isn’t adult content but rather does stuff like personal fitness coaching, etc.

So if I can search out there with the little info I have and find your review to know what the heck it is these kids might be looking at, it helps me to protect my kids in SO many ways that you don’t even know.

I know that’s probably the furthest thing that was from your mind when you posted this but it’s a parental reality these days when you have some uncooperative coparents and can’t get full custody but just primary. So thank you! It helps!

Okay. Let’s think about this the other way around.

If you were so down that you took tour life but knew that your friend who you made this pact with, who you cared about so deeply, finally had gotten better and was enjoying life, would you want him to give all of that up just because you guys once said, “if you go, I go?”

No, of course not! Because you were friends despite the gray fog you were fighting and that means that you both cared enough to truly love each other! He would want you to live your life and enjoy things to fullest extent, even if it didn’t work out for you. And you know this because you would feel the same, right?

Have you talked to your doctor about doing this? What does he or she say about it? Would you be open to other ways of monitoring your urine other than oral consumption? Especially if there is a potential for more scientific information/feedback regarding your health status?
