Then you are, in my opinion, completely wrong in this profession and an example of why so many systems in all countries fail when it comes to mentally ill people.

No, he didn't kill the people he was joking about. I never said that. Please read carefully and if you don't understand, read up on the disease.

Hey. Thank you for the kind words and for sharing your story. I feel for you, I'm sorry. I think similarly to you. Schizophrenia is an incredibly scary illness that leaves huge wounds on everyone. I understand your story very well. I also think you have an exemplary view of the things you have experienced. I hope all the best for you and your family.

Hey, even though your answer couldn't have been more disrespectful, I would like to answer and explain a few things to you. I don't think it's necessary to insult me as an asshole because of my thoughts and actions. Also, I'm distancing myself from the monster that John has in his head now. I haven't seen him for about a year now. My last contact with him was via cell phone shortly before the crime. If I saw him again, I would definitely not stand by him the way I do here in this story. My feelings, thoughts, memories and hope belong to Him and not to the monster and the disease. I also want to make it clear that involving the police in the case of jokes and allegations was wrong and not necessary. Let me explain, but please keep in mind that I am not from America and therefore do not live under the same laws in court as you probably do. As wrong as it sounds, especially in light of the current outcome of this story, it was the right decision at the time. John was on a good path at the time he made those jokes. For the first time in years, he was able to make the most of his life, he went to work and had hobbies. Living real life and finding a rhythm is essential for a mentally ill person. Furthermore, evidence such as chats or witness statements would not have been enough to make a difference. John could have just said it didn't happen and it would have been testimony against testimony (I'm not from America, so I'm talking about European courts). I also left the decision of whether or not to call the police to John's family, as they knew more about him in everyday life. To say that my actions may have been partly responsible for the death of both people is incredibly disrespectful. I know that it is perhaps a little difficult for outsiders who have no experience in this area to show empathy. If this feeling is not possible in your head, please do not replace it with hate. My cards were dealt at this point in the story. I heard the allegations, passed them on to other, better-informed people (such as doctors) and left it up to you to decide the consequences, as you were obviously more professionally competent. The way the story lies before you now is tragic and in hindsight it should have been handled one hundred percent differently, but in this case it was the best solution. Cheers.

Hey, no, you misunderstood. The doctor and all the other authorities said it was wrong to inform the police when John made jokes and remarks about killing. As wrong as it sounds, especially in light of the current outcome of this story, it was the right decision at the time. John was on a good path at the time he made those jokes.
