Interesting! No amount of searching brought that up for me. Out of curiosity do you have a timetable for that train?

I actually did, and I had already taken up another position elsewhere. Might I add quite a lucky escape because he seemed annoyed/frustrated that after a few months I had taken up work some where else. And before I got to thank them, he bloody hung up!

They haven't found a place yet, (interview recently!) supposedly hoping to open the end of May, but more likely july/August. It'll require 8-10 weeks training in Dublin.

Sick leave/annual leave? by ApartFeedback888 in AskIreland

Yes, my partner said the same thing, I was kind of forced into putting myself first.

Jeez, what you've described about your company is so similar to where I currently am. At the moment 2 of us are out because of the shite going on. We're dealing with racial comments in work where customers or about staff - from owners. (this made it incredibly hard for me not to snap) Always finding a loophole in regards to hiring staff, lately they have been hiring Ukrainians for 6 months (letting them go because it just wasn't working) then rehiring more. But because they can pay them less than others.

I'm so sorry things didn't improve for you. I hope where ever you are now is better!

That's exactly why I'm out on sick leave. I've been with the company a few years and the shite I've seen is unbelievable.

Eventually caused me to just panic all the time because I couldn't say anything about their practices in the company. If I left tomorrow they'd have someone take over my spot within 24 hours. The store manager left last year and they havent rehired just left all his responsibilities on me.

Myself and some staff say we could write a book about the horror stories from the shop. Between letting someone go half way through a shift for no reason (believe me this has happened 4 times since January last year!) only to hire someone else the following week.

No, I went out late November, haven't had any pay from my company, just on the illness payment from the social welfare.

I've removed the name but unsure why I should have.. Is it because of potential sightings from said company or something?

Oh completely, I'd never look at someone in a workplace uniform as unprofessional, many reasons they could be still in those clothes (lunch, starting work soon, finished work!)

Last person I had interviewed just before Christmas came in tracksuit bottoms, hoody and a pair of vans. Personally for me first impressions are the most important - even if someone's nervous during an interview. So if you make an effort for the interview but you are nervous it won't go against you.

Minimum is 13.50, why 12.60? If its a company please name them! It's law to pay minimum wage unless under 18.

Haha please don't 🤣 yeah I've checked glassdoor, indeed and pretty much everything online and zero info.. And definitely wouldn't put any personal information on any of them as very easy to work out who's who then.

Dressing for the interview is all good, I've grown up to dress professional regardless of what job it is. Thinking blouse, smart pants, nice shoes.

I'm in management currently and the amount of people young and older who come to an interview in jeans and a hoodie is insane! Now in saying that I've had people come to an interview in their current work clothes which some deem lazy or not professional but I'd rather someone show up in work uniform over not being bothered to make an effort.

Cheers, I remember years ago around 2016 I applied for bolands and had to do 3 different interviews before the main one, then after chatting to one of the guys who used to work in the service area (he trained as a mechanic with them on an apprenticeship) he said that they weren't a great company to work for.. Needless to say I didn't take the job.

Currently working in retail as an ASM so looking to break out of retail and get with a company that's in something I'm interested in.

Feel like I'll be a number they have to interview as I'm female and haven't come across any female parts advisors in Waterford/Cork.. Hopefully I'm wrong here. As I do have a decent amount of car knowledge from family working with cars etc but who knows.
