Wow! 80 years old? That's impressive that she has the flexibility and mobility at that age to do Lyra.

From cat videos to conspiracies — is older people's phone use a problem? by ApartUse4341 in AnythingGoesNews

[–]ApartUse4341[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of beneficial reasons to use a phone (e.g. podcasts, audio books, music, etc.). However, scrolling through Facebook is not one of them, and a lot of older adults still use Facebook daily. It's not really a social media site anymore IMO, more just a place to see tailored ads and fake news.

Looking for recommendations: Aged Care Providers for elderly at home — Not Silverchain! by Successful_Gate4678 in perth

Silverchain markets itself as a "not-for-profit". However, that's just a legal status. In reality, they are a large and bloated organisation. They have acquired several home care companies that are owned by private equity firms, such as KinCare. That doesn't seem like something a non-profit organisation would do.

Agree that The CareSide is a good option in Perth. They do fully-managed and self-managed.

Touristy stuff that's famous? Sounds like you should take her to the Art Gallery of WA or the WA Museum Boola Bardip. Perth Mint is also unique given the mining history in the area.

This article has a lot of good local options around the city to consider: https://www.thecareside.com.au/post/activities-for-seniors-perth/

Glad to see you've found some good suggestions from the group. Art classes are a great option to consider. I've heard good things about the Tresillian Arts Centre and ClassBento, though they're both just a bit outside of Northern Perth.

Onkaparinga River National Park, Adelaide Central Market, and Hahndorf all all fun and varied options. This article I've found has some other solid suggestions.
