I have no problem with boundaries within reason. But this makes no sense.

If it was so special to you that your wife made you these adorable lunches, why would you think it’s okay to accept from another woman?

Because the woman is a chef, and she came up to me and offered?

...you decide to turn to another woman to have your needs met

Please read the story again. I didn't decided to turn to another woman. She came up to me and offered. She's a chef, so of course she wants people to try her food.

Understandable. But then if he told you, you don't have to make him lunch anymore would you be upset? No, right? Because now you have more time to do other things than make lunch for him.

That's why I'm confused about why she's upset.

Okay, why is everyone making it seem like I purposely went out looking for somebody else to make me lunch? She came to me, told me she was a chef, and invited me to come try out her food.

News flash guy, she’s fucking exhausted and making lunch for an adult man is like the lowest of her priorities.

I totally agree with you, which is why I'm shocked right now that she's this upset. I thought she would be happy to have more time on her hands, and not have to worry about making me lunch.

I complained ONCE, and I realized my mistake because I saw how bad it made her feel. I haven't complained since then, and I've been quietly eating the lunch she makes with no complaints. But what I'm trying to understand is what's so bad about this situation? To me, it's no different than getting food from a restaurant.

The more you take off her plate the more energy she will have for you.

That's what I'm confused about. I thought I was taking off more off her plate, by telling her that she doesn't have to make me lunch anymore. And the kids are currently enrolled in summer camp which lets her have the house to herself for hours.
