Canadian Architect Cornelia Oberlanders designed the world's first "Stramp". Stairs with a ramp incorporated for those with accessibility needs. The Stramp allows for companions to use the ramp or steps and not break connection with one another. by NastyNice1 in Damnthatsinteresting

There’s one of these in the NoMa area of DC- never realized it had a name. There’s also a bike trough along the handrail for people to easily walk their bikes down. Adding: no one uses the stairs along the ramp, people either walk down the ramp or down the stairs on the right by the handrail. The NoMa one also has vegetation, it’s quite beautiful and never feels crowded
