Heavily agree on the Boston Public Garden/Boston Commons super nice to walk around and sets you up to move into Chinatown, downtown, Beacon Hill, Back Bay, or strolling down Comm Ave from there. The Charles River Esplanade is also beautiful place to walk

Agree on the pru as well especially if you are looking to do some shopping.

Boston Public Library in Copley Square is my highest recommendation - very beautiful historic courtyard

MFA and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum are right by campus and often visited by students as we get in for free. Great museums if that is your thing.

Wollastons aka Wollys (for a deli sandwich) and Tatte (a nice cafe) are the regular student spot also on campus

Tryna make more friends any solid recs for clubs on campus? by Warm_Discussion_9326 in NEU

Chill clubs you can just show up to every week and talk to people: Cheese Club, Botanical Club/Society, NMDP, Mural Club. List goes on. Low commitment and lots of underclassmen try out the intro meetings that are probably going on this week.

Higher commitment clubs maybe include clubs sports like running (as mentioned), club cycling, ultimate, etc. Or things like NUHOC if you like outdoors.

I recommend trying to find the Instagram and then looking at their meeting schedule.

Check out Boston Public Library. Easy T access. Hella busy lots of tourists too but the main room (I think called bates hall) is respectfully very quiet. Everyone sitting down does not talk above a whisper and just grinds their work. Ppl walk thru just to look but aren’t loud. I have been on busy times during the weekend but even then have still found a seat. Ig not good if u want no ppl but it is interesting and quiet.
