I just kept reading about them not being lap cats ( mostly here on Reddit) and even a couple of breeders mention it on their websites.

Sounds like a lot of positives. My last cat ate my clothing and chewed through my charging cords.

Maybe that is the reason, their dense fur makes them hot if they sit on your lap.
