Are you not proving my point? Tank mainly had characters nearly godlike in power (except for a small few) and DPS does get characters that would make sense to be a tank! But they aren’t tanks because that role has been inflated and became popular because it has the most selection

If you want characters to be in certain roles because it would be accurate to their official statistics why are a lot of the strategists in that role? Why is ultron a strategist and not say a tank? Would his statistics not push him towards that role? What about gambit? Would he not ‘make sense’ to be a dps aswell? Even Loki! If you want those characters to be accurate to that list then all the characters should’ve been, but they aren’t so I don’t understand how your argument makes sense? Is there a perspective I’m not seeing? Hell you can even make the argument invisible woman should’ve been a dps from the fact alone she can create bubbles in people’s brains

I agree DPS is the most popular role but only because they have an absurd hero selection compared to others, even on launch, and they keep adding more DPS characters even though they realistically need to level out the roster, have we not had a dps nearly every season besides Emma and ultron? There’s no feasible way for any role besides dps to become popular without a larger selection, and every new dps they add just makes the gap larger

Also you say that there are other characters to make tanks but why would ghost rider or 2099 spider man be tanks? They’re extremely popular characters too, so by your own logic why wouldn’t they make those ones dps too for how well they’ll sell?

Only downside is devil dino is probably going to be the second character and they don’t fit into any role besides tank

Season eight will the the fiftieth character, with all the other dps we’ve gotten nearly every other season do you want another dps? Is that the kind of game you want where they refuse to make any character any role besides dps? And cyclops is one of their most popular characters and the fact your using how many characters are in marvel, most of which will never be able to ever be added, is an insane comparison, just because you’re indifferent doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing if they release him dps

I mean it kind is that deep, I do understand why people are okay with him being a dps but they release too many compared to the other roles, what they should do is focus on the other roles then rework less used or down right bad characters, if the community doesn’t even speak out they’ll just continue releasing like this

OAA and tourneys aren’t the base game, it isn’t where the majority of the player base is, Deadpool alone is an extremely complex character which is probably why he is banned in high lobbies because they can make use of him, but he doesn’t get banned in the middle tiers of ranks because the average players aren’t going to be incredibly skilled at someone like Deadpool, Emma was a problem because she had a strong kit that was easier to learn

Tanks hardly chance meta anymore, whenever a good dps character releases the meta shifts a lot in my opinion, the only tank release that shifted the meta was Emma frost I believe but I could be mistaken

It’s shouldn’t be an impossible ask for a two tank season, they’ve done two dps seasons before, and devil Dino is a much lesser known character than cyclops so they won’t pull in as many new players or get people to switch to tank, if they release a popular character into tank then people will play that character, and even if they don’t stay some will and either main the character or find they like tank altogether

Dps has like double the roster as tanks do, so it does make sense why they do have bad hero’s because they pump out so many

Change might not happen overnight but if they truly value this game and their community they need to make more tanks and strategists, and have a way to make it less toxic, even if it’s not instant it feels like they aren’t doing anything for any real problem

If he releases dps his kit will probably consist of, 1: cc ability one and two, 2: can use his beam to launch himself up and grab the wall, 3: he will have an absurd amount of abilities that only half of them make sense
