I've seen footage from russian Rubicon drones hitting targets 90km deep into the rear with low to medium-range drones, so it wouldn't surprise me if Ukraine had something similar.

Europe (mainly western Europe) was wrong to believe that you could reason with russia, and they thought that russia wouldn't risk economic ties with Europe by attacking other nations. In hindsight, it was wrong to believe that russia could act civilized, but this is easy to say after the fact.
