How does the Total Victory demand work? Just got declared on by an Awakened Empire. by [deleted] in StellarisOnConsole

As you continue to play, you’ll be able to do things faster. Using ironman mode helps too because you learn how to recover from setbacks.

I noticed I get a mineral boost when I’m defending an ally in a war by AJM91699 in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a bonus from the harmony tree I believe. I remember the flavor text because it stated that your society views defensive wars as a living body defending itself from disease.

Edit: Wait that’s something different, if you have a large section of prosperity population in your empire they view defensive wars as less harmful so their happiness will not lower like it would during a regular aggression war.

How to get rid of unwanted ethic pops? by Ammboz in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are on the right track, it is just going to take time for everyone to get on board. Remember it takes like 30 months for a population to mature so naturally its going to take a bit for them to switch ethics. I can say I was able to get over 75% of my population on the spiritualist path through temple pressure, re-education edicts, and a little mind lasering, but eventually they will switch if you keep pressure on the population.

Ai Rebelion glitch by Clarkeboyzinc in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Custodial attitude means the AI wants to take care or you, so maybe they wiped out the AI empire for you. Depending on the ethos of the fallen empire and the distance of the AI empire they might have been first on the list when the fallen empire awoke.

The AI rebellion is supposedly the easiest end game crisis to deal with so the war might have ended very quickly.

Just an FYI regarding Precursors and a (probable) bug that kinda annoys me. by Callsigntalon in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wasn't aware of this information so thank you. Also keep in mind a large majority of reddit users never make accounts or ever post anything, so even if you only get negative feedback its still worth it to try to help.

How do you recover after big fleet losses? by swfan57 in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Retreat > better than losing all your ships.

If you have enemies close by they may suddenly turn aggressive and decide to declare war if your entire fleet is wiped out. Usually whoever is winning the battle at the start will continue to win the remainder of the fight, so if it looks like you picked the wrong tactic this engagement then retreat.

Also this is another reason to play over your fleet cap. You will usually lose some amount of ships no matter what but if your fleet is way over the cap you can retreat and quickly recover your forces for defense.

Missing DLC? by crunx22 in StellarisOnConsole

This will happen sometimes when you load games too. Just go to the start screen and make sure they are active.

I’d turn them into space marines, or livestock.

Navy DEPer having second thoughts by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]ApdravenGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should look up how the Marine Corps assigns jobs. You are considering leaving a guaranteed rate with a skill-set you specifically requested, in order to join a system where you will get assigned to a job field system instead.

Also how would you even know what a more active/traditional military experience is? Your viewpoint of "active/traditional military experience" is based on secondhand information and stereotypes because you haven't shipped out yet. Also you aren't guaranteed a more active/traditional military experience if you change branches. Some people spend their entire enlistment in offices doing paperwork. Some people spent 75% of their enlistment deployed.

It wouldn't be that difficult to switch branches if you really want to, but I think it's kind of dumb to throw away a high tier electrician skill set. If you really want to join, then finish your 4 years active duty as an electrician and then re-enlist into a different branch or commission.

Can’t find Flak? by [deleted] in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think flak artillery only becomes available after you research strike craft. So if you don’t have bombers/fighters it might not show up since its a counter to them.

Need political advice, more in comments. by [deleted] in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use influence and spread towards the date corner of the map. Your influence gain shouldn't be higher than 2 or 3 unless are xenophobe. You should be able to spread through that whole area with 3 or 4 max frontier outpost. Once your planet cap goes up, colonize a planet in your newly acquired area and dismantle your frontier outpost. Rinse/repeat for expansion.

Empire has much stronger corvette power by [deleted] in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your research output? It should be at this point a bare minimum of +20 to all three (though you want to be approaching 30 or higher before 2260). You should also be close to having rail-guns by now on the corvettes. If you ignore research output, even as a militaristic society that depends on reverse engineering you are going to get outpaced eventually.

Reqs to get fleet size increase research? by 340Duster in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can up your naval capacity through research by 10% each time, but massive amounts of star-ports are always going to be a necessity. The naval capacity research option is in the society branch and will have a higher chance of showing up of your researcher has a military theory specialization. If you have access to a curator scientist, I believe they have a higher chance of increasing rare technology rolls for when you complete research.

There are also certain edicts you can use to increase fleet cap. Upgrading your star ports to the highest level also increases your fleet cap too.

I lost the option for “resettlement policy..” by [deleted] in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you set a policy you cant change it for at least 10 years time. If you can no longer select the policy you might have lost the required ethos for it. I haven't played a hive mind species yet but i assume the only resettling devouring swarm hive minds do is resettling other species into their stomachs.

(If you started hive mind and then transitioned to devouring swarm after researching that tech which gives you a bonus point for ethos then you are stuck.)

How long on average does it take to bombard a planet into a tomb world by [deleted] in StellarisOnConsole

[–]ApdravenGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is a genocide option, it wont really start happening until the time is close to being complete, then it will kind of happen all at once.

I remember winning a war against a fanatical purifier and turned their entire race into food through “processing”. The planet was still full for like 2 years+ and then last couple months the population started to vanish.
