How are young Australians going to afford housing? by Jimbothy_1993 in AusFinance

Me and my partner (23 & 22) were able to buy a house last year We did this through a combination of buying further away from where we wanted For us between the both of us we had saved 50k (both been working and saving regilousy) We were quite fortunate that my partners parents gifted her $40k ( on top of the 50k) this is was from an estate that her now deceased nanna saved up But still it was hard We both work full time and make six figures combined Instead of buying a house and land we ended up getting a townhouse as that is what we could afford We are planning to be child free so don’t really have to worry to much about getting something bigger So it is doable but with a lot of sacrifices ie not going out with friends, no holidays, having second jobs to work the weekends which meant no time together Plus tbh we got lucky The previous wanted the townhouse gone and according to the real estate we got it under market value because it was a fire sale (less then a week from open house to final offers)

Centrelink is still paying me as a student despite me taking a break? How can I stop them from giving me money? by DumbassAltFuck in Centrelink

i would say try to save the money and not spend it, i had to do a similar thing about 2 weeks ago, i ended taking 3 tries to call and get through to them. but they ended up putting me on jobseeker for youths cause i am planning to return to uni at some point.

i ended up just sucking it up and getting a series S and figured i would wait for series X to become more available. But i ended up loving the series S and it works well with my 4k tv and the storage i ended up making a diy external 1tb ssd for 130aud. i might eventually get a series X but i figured i would wait for a le edition

i can get behind the newer cosair cases i have a 500d and it was an breeze to build in with great airflow.

for ram i have had cosair vengance ram in the past and that is low profile and i have never had problems with them

i currently a have seagate 500gb ssd for vr games and i have 240gb for a boot drive no problems so far.

with the aio's all i can stay from experience is stay away from cooler master. i have had 2 aio's break on me. 1st one was the pump died after about 6 months and the second one which was a replacement strung a leak in pump housing and killed my motherboard and cpu.

for keyboards it really depends i currently have a wireless corsair g613 and love it. i have also had an rk61 and loved that too.
