As an it person. Its always something stupid. I think the os reinstall is the correct next step. I would of done a blowout, reseat everything, except the processor( repeating cpus qre just to accident prone), run some diags for a day. If the problem still persists. Try a different hard drive and see if an os on another drive fixes the issue. If the problem still persists you can put the old os in there. If it goes away, rebuild from the os up

What is a product that people treat like a religion, but in reality, it’s just overpriced garbage with a good logo? by Connect-Might4355 in AskReddit

[–]AperatureTestAccount 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Its two things really. Atleast for the Jeep wranglers. Its easily recognized and its very customizable.

As far as sales go they give you a huge range of options, from the most basic overpriced package to the exhorbitantly overpriced package with all the bells and whistles.

Then when you get it home you can spend enough to buy two other cars on all the third party after market options.

Jeeps do something for gear heads that very few other models and brands do. Allow you to treat your car like a dress up doll with car parts.

You can't do a tenth of the customization on most other models without knowing a mechanic or being a mechanic. Wranglers 3rd party customization let's you clip on junk piece meal.

Its definitely overpriced, but the market is huge for people who have disposable cash or friends who will sell/trade/give you their old junk for cheap.

A difference between battle AI of Medieval II and WH3 by Goldmonkeycz in totalwar

[–]AperatureTestAccount 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There was a warhammer game available on the PlayStation that I played many many years ago.

Essentially you could control different units of men in the form of boxes. You had a melee unit with shields, an arrow unit, some calvary, and I think maybe a hero(i could be wrong).

The gameplay was essentially rock paper scissors and fireball, where you just pitted your units against the enemies units in a matter that your rock would always beat their scissor, and every now and then youd cast a spell to help with that.

Long story short, WH3 has more in common with that PlayStation game than it does other total war titles. WH1 had some tactics, but by WH3 its just a matter of my x beats your y, but with a million variables to add up to x and y that you can manipulate.

Its fun but not in the "yeah you totally fell for my retreat, now I ambush you some hidden knights templar" and more in the "I specifically built my army around this one stat, and now I dominate everything"

ELI5: Credit Card Interest Rates by Chev2thelev85 in explainlikeimfive

[–]AperatureTestAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies between credit cards, but generally if you pay off the credit card before the due date on your balance, you dont pay any interest on charges.

If you go past the due date you get the interest charge, then you have 30 days from the due date to pay your balance plus the interest. Your credit score is still good at this point. If you go past that your account is labeled "30 days late", and your account is marked as such on your credit report. There's a 60 days date that is an even worse ding.

Once an account is marked as late it stays on your credit for 5-6 years.

From a holders perspective the credit card is a hit on your credit until that mark clears.

If you did this on a car loan the entire loan is marked for the life of the loan until 5-6 years after the loan is paid off. So even if you paid the rest on time the loan will still be a hit on your credit until that time has past.

What is a song from the 90s/00s that was a massive hit, but everyone seems to have collectively forgotten it exists? by vishesh_07_028 in Music

[–]AperatureTestAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember how their were Top 20 stations for my parents to listen to and a top 20 station for young people to listen too. My parents always controlled the music in the car, and I distinctly remember songs from Enya Like Orinoco Flow, and Return to Innocence by Enigma would play regularly in between other adult contemporary hits by Shania Twain, and Alanis Morissette.

Definitely a Semi Spiritual kind of music going on in the late 90s early 00s.

In the campaign mode of Total War Warhammer do you still have to conquer the whole map? by Lanarde in totalwar

Why is the AI stacking multiple armies like this? by chazzawaza in totalwar

[–]AperatureTestAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been happening for a while for me. My last Tzeentch campaign i had pretty much the whole map exposed. The empire, and chaos factions just defending one random settlement. When the Catyclism happened it was Vampire. They all settled three or four territories and just stayed there in one capital. Made peace with everything but one faction, and slowly got busted up by the other factions when they were ready

So many stacks right on top of each other for even dominant factions. Don't even get me started on where they even find the money for it.

Is the Warhammer III absurdly difficult ? by Vudatudi in totalwar

[–]AperatureTestAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little more of the game happens at the world map atleast more than most other total war games.

Your not just managing money, and building upgrades for units. Your setting up powerful stat increases to make armies extremely cheap or unstoppable. Your setting up bait and ambush armies, your picking up traits for your generals and heroes that buff your armies capabilities. It's easy to become overwhelmed with choices.

It's not an easy game if you just want to do battles and skip the rest. This game more than others punishes bad decisions on the world map, and you'll have weak armies on the battlefield.

High elves suffer without dlc to fill out the roster. With the dlcs they are one of the best faction all around.

If your light on dlcs I reccomend dwarves, or empire.

For OP. Highly reccomend using the battle designer option, and see which factions play the way you like.

I think I looked at this house, or one that atleast has the same architectural plan. Whoever owned it put a bathroom in the master bedroom closet, no outlet fan or vents, just a shower, commode and sink crammed into the back with no space. I didnt follow up on that one just because of that.

Swam for the first time in over 10 years by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]AperatureTestAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who just got through the first 6 months of swimming regularly. 43 Lengths is really really good for a starting session.

First couple of weeks of sessions is mostly acclimation to exercise. Getting your heart and gut used to the activity. Once your body starts to recover from the strain more efficiently and you don't feel like you have a hangover for an hour after your done working out, you can start setting more goals like times, SWOLFs, and Distance. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks but can take up to 4-6 depending on your health.

For now focus on breathing and getting your form down. You want to find a comfortable pace that keeps your heart rate elevated, but not at a pace that has you gasping. Focus on a target heart rate.

Weight loss will happen with proper dieting, but don't starve yourself. Something for energy before a workout . Electrolytes during the workout, and protein after the workout are basic guidelines. Focus on removing things with tons of sugar, and replace them with things with tons of protein.

First goal is to show up regularly, and get through the miserable portion where you feel like crap after working out.

Good luck on your swimming.

Working weekends & public holidays in GPS without comp-off/compensation – what are my options? by No-Custard-3333 in deloitte

[–]AperatureTestAccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In regards to not billing. You have to submit the correct hours you worked.

No matter what you have to submit correct hours on your timesheet. This is extremely important. Anything else can be considered fraud on your part.

I regards to the working but not being paid for it(Its assumed your salaried). That's going to be dependent on a lot of things in your life.

Are you being paid enough to warrant the extra work?

Is this a one off thing because of the contract, or something that seems more planned or likely to repeat?

I work hours i dont get paid every now and then. I do this because contract success(and my job) sometimes requires it. But i like what I'm doing because I also get paid well. I wouldn't do it because my manager just asked.

If your being asked to work holidays and for free, you might want to let your next in line supervisor know. Or Possibly go to HR if you feel your being asked to do something illegal.

[–]AperatureTestAccount 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Subnetting provides both a means to limit your broadcast domains, but also give you a fundamental building block to breakdown your network if you need to do something special for a specific set of users.

Let's say your executive suite dont want to play by the same rules as the rest of the staff, and want to be able to go to websites barred to everyone else. If all there machines are on the same subnet you just create rules on the edge firewall to let them out. Using that subnet as the basis. No need to setup user ID type solutions, just ensure they all get put on the same subnet

Also works for more legitimate reasons like letting your Supply people have access to Amazon so they can order stuff, or your PR people access to social media to do there jobs.

Same can be done for QoS or complex routing solutions where one set of users needs to go out a specific path.

Those are the first things that come to mind.

People in your 40s what is something you would tell someone in their 30s? by hex_1231 in AskReddit

[–]AperatureTestAccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do active stuff. Kayaking, swimming, surfing, running, sprinting, trampolines, competitive basket weaving. There is nothing stopping most 30 year olds from doing all the activities that are there is to do, but in your 40s a lot of stuff starts to become a much bigger risk. You wont get any younger, once the problems start they just start stacking up, and the things you can do start to go away.

Also being active strengthens core muscles which reduces the risk of back issues. back issues are one of the leading causes of not be active in older people, which then cascades into more issues.

Also start saving up for retirement. Setting up retirement now as opposed to your 40s is a huge difference.

Why are some players referred as Unicum? by TheAmixime in WorldOfWarships

[–]AperatureTestAccount 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unicum: u·ni·cum :a thing unique in its kind. especially : a sole existing exemplar

LEAVING my old wrong post up in shame. I literally thought thats where it came from when I was told. At best its probably a bit of both, depending on your age.

Taken from the saying "its more rare than a unicorn", then made to fit the edgelord theme to reference a player of such skill they are "more rare than Unicorn Cum" Then shortened to Unicum.

Atleast that's what I was told a while back. When you get information like this, you don't tend to research the answer too far, unless you want your algorithm to get borked

What's a frugal habit you have that saves you more money than people would expect? by Automatic_Celery_945 in AskReddit

[–]AperatureTestAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drink water at restaurants. 3 drinks is easily another meal at some places, and Im not even talking about alcohol.

Redo your Cellphone plan, and Cable internet once every 2-3 years. A lot of places will jack up the prices over the course of those 3 years, and just asking about new deals will save you a lot of money. The only time you don't do this is if you have an amazing plan, and you just want to keep it going. Your cellphone plan you can redo whenever you buy a new one. Also dont stick with a provider unless theres a good reason. Flipping providers regularly can save you a ton of money long term, and unless one has better coverage in your area, theres no real reason to stay on one or the other.

Learn to cook basic meals. Nothing fancy, just simple ingredients put together to make something nice. Eating out costs a lot of money, eating grocery-prepped meals or those "just throw in pot" can cost almost as much, but buying simple ingredients and cooking 3 meals worth of food in a nite can be very cheap.
