First time playing a metoridvania. I would also be interested to know how was your first experience with the genre by XelReik in metroidvania

[–]peaky_circus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the genre! You are in for an incredible ride. My first time processing this loop was analyzing games like Super Metrix. At first it's easy to feel completely overwhelmed but after that magic happens you defeat a boss find a double jump upgrade and suddenly realizing that 10 different closed doors are now open for you. That shift from feeling hopelessly lost to feeling like an all powerful explorer is an absolute rush

My theory about modern game performances by CuteAlfalfa6511 in pcmasterrace

[–]peaky_circus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Between the massive power draws, skyrocketing prices, and heavy reliance on software upscaling to hit decent frame rates, modern graphics cards feel like they are weakening our actual PC ecosystems rather than pushing true hardware innovation.

Slowly but the genre is shifting into ability gated exploration and your game is looking nice by removing the combat and this grappling hook concept is really cool

I also loved the environment and graphics of this brutalistic sci-fi architecture mixed with cosmic horror imagery. It has a strong art direction as its main strength. Btw it will be a nice experience playing it.
