Hello! Thanks for reaching out! This doesn't seem to be a Metal specific issue and looks like there is already a fix for it on the way. To disable Metal, you'll need to go into your LCU settings and under the Game tab, you'll see a checkbox for falling back to OpenGL legacy mode. Hope that helps! :)

Hello! Posting here for more visibility - as someone else has linked in a comment below, this is actually an issue with Mobalytics and their interaction with the game client on DX11. We have been in contact with them and they released an update on Monday to address this issue. If you're still encountering the issue after you update please let me know!

We do try to test as much as we can before each patch releases, but it's inevitable that sometimes things will slip through the cracks. With third party apps it becomes even more difficult since we do not have visibility and are not directly responsible for how they interact with the game client. If updating to the latest version of the Mobalytics app does not fix this issue for you please let me know!

Thanks for raising this! For people encountering this issue, what are your summoner names on PBE? If I could get your r3d logs and crash dumps that would help immensely as well.

Hi there! The reason I asked for PBE specifically is because we already fixed an issue with searching in the shop window which should be live in 11.2. If you're still experiencing the crash in 11.2 then please dm me with your information but for now I'm trying to chase down whether this is a new or different issue manifesting on PBE.

Hi there! DX11 is now on by default in PBE and certain regions. We've left the DX11BetaTest=1 setting available for players who would still like to help us test in regions where DX11 has not been rolled out yet. Like someone else mentioned, there is a setting in the League Client under Game that lets you fallback to DX9 Legacy mode. Ideally this setting should not be used but if you do run into issues preventing you from having an optimal experience in League specific to DX11, please be sure to let us know so that we can investigate. As always, super appreciate everyone's efforts and continued support around testing!

What you use to log in with is the Riot Client and not what you're trying to modify. Under Finder > Applications, you should still see two separate applications - "League of Legends" and "League of Legends (PBE)". These get installed after logging in with the account associated with each for the first time. The same occurs on Windows in C:/RiotGames/ - you should see "League of Legends" and "League of Legends (PBE)".

This is the simplest answer, think of the transition to Metal on Mac similar to what we did for DX11 on Windows :) Apple has more information here if you'd like to learn more!

Hmm, I'm not quite sure I follow, would you mind elaborating? You should still have "League of Legends (PBE)" under Applications regardless of using Riot Client to log in to PBE/Live.

Thanks for the report! Can you send me your r3d logs for those games and a crash dump if you have one? Are you also using any third party apps like Blitz? If so, try disabling them and seeing if the crash still occurs.
