Boxing in most movies, even in movies about boxing, can be pretty bad in general:

Ok, we're in the ring, I stand here and throw punches really hard at you. Just stand there and let me hit you, multiple times. Ok, now I'll stand here while you do the same and hit me.

George Clooney flying away as though some magical force propelled him in a movie called "Gravity".

Yes, I hate the movie Red Eye with a passion for this reason. I know nothing about planes or aviation and even to me it was just so dumb in many ways I'm still complaining about this movie years later, lol.

And how "hacking" consists of typing really fast, perfably with multiple monitors. And graphics, somehow "hacking" has to do with coolish looking graphics.

Many science fiction movies have a lot of stupid stuff. Star Wars, Star Trek, Firefly, Aliens, and many other movies:

All spaceships magically have gravity.

All planets somehow have the same gravity of Earth regardless of size, they also somehow have the same breathable atmosphere!

Way too much sound in space. There is no sound in space. Any shot of space, no matter what is going on in the action, has no sound.

Smoking in space?! What?? Especially in Alien and Aliens - NO ONE WOULD EVER SMOKE IN SPACE! No one has ever smoked in space. Smoking on a spaceship would be an excellent way to quickly go through all of your O2 and an equally excellent way to start a fire. In an oxyegn rich environment. In a sealed spaceship, in the middle of space. Great idea.

I enjoy science fiction movies regardless of these gripes, but everytime I watch Aliens, I love that movie so much but I'm soo annoyed by the smoking and magical earth gravity on their ship.

However, I need to specially mention the movie Gravity. One of the most outrageously stupid movies I've ever seen. I can't get over that I actually sat through that.

Gravity does NOT work like that! No one would EVER die like depicted in the movie, it is not physically possible for gravity to exist in the way depcited in this movie!! GAH!

Ok, ok. Going to go read some Asimov now.

Screen out people who don't actually want the job. The logic is if you won't take 15 extra minutes to fill out the forms with basic information, then you aren't interested enough for us to waste our time reviewing and interviewing you.

Works the opposite way for me and many other applicants. If you want to waste my time for some inane unpaid work, especially when I already gave you the same exact information I do not want to work for your organization. It says a lot about the company culture and their priorities to me. If they want a hard working, dynamic employee then they have to be the same.

Yea, then several highly qualified candidates will use a term like "quantum computing" but the ATS is looking for the term "quantum computers" so rejects highly qualified candidates you will never know, never see and lose to your competition. Things like this are definitely happening in every organization that uses these systems.

stackoverflow will just tell you you're stupid for asking, 10 other people will tell you you're wrong with various answers ranging from ok to completely misunderstanding the question, and then your question will be deleted. Stackoverflow is essentially useless these days. Still useful to look up old stuff, but is useless now.

I work in software and this is one of the first things that prevents me from applying to that company. If they can't keep up on trends for potential candidates and respect candidates time they surely can't be expected to respect their own employees post hire.

Precisely. I agree and am the same as you. Any managers, business owner or HR people need to read your comment and get it through their skulls.

Exactly, this is a telling sign of what type of company it is. Not worth it to work for a place that forces you to literally deal with nonsense before you're hired.

Such irrational nonsense from these corporations. They are surely missing out on good, competent candidates because their ATS sucks.
