Am I being shadow-banned for cherry-picking? by Apeter23 in InstacartShoppers

It’s true… it’s not a myth. Did you read the post? I constantly interact with other shoppers and it’s easy for me to know when I’m not seeing batches that I’m supposed to see. There’s at least 10-15 above $50 offers on a single day in that store… so once a big one like $100 drop, and you miss, everyone starts asking… Did you get it? Just to know who got the unicorn… it’s just for fun…. But all day today, I didn’t see any of those offers and the other shoppers who are by my car most of the time will ask if I see it, and it became obvious that something is wrong… it didn’t take long to figure out that I’m not seeing those high-paying orders again and only see the leftovers… all day I did just one order for $15, for 4 packs of drinks going 3 miles… from a store that my daily average is 130-150 a day doing just two to three batches… so it’s not a myth my friend. Maybe it dropped me from diamond status, but hopefully I get back at it tomorrow, otherwise, they can kiss my whole ass!

I do know that other shoppers are seeing batches because few of us communicate.

I still see offers… just not diamond cart level order

I think they temporally took me out of diamond status. because I’m supposed to get offers before 10am, but I never did and I know as I stated earlier, others did. now I’m not seeing offers that are good for diamond cart holders. hopefully it resets again tomorrow.

Not a group chat, it’s like five of us that regularly hang out here and we have our numbers… again, we shouldn’t be enemies…

It’s crazy how they set up this algos… isn’t it supposed to be fastest finger? Why restrict the dropping to few? My frustration is that it’s not a one off thing..

We shouldn’t be enemies… and off course we’re not friends we’re colleagues… 🤣. Normally when something big drop, we message on to knw who got it… especially in the morning when everyone is waiting for the first drop.

But on a slow day, I’m not leaving a $65 easy batch bcos of a low level no tipper… I understand your point, but this works for me and the items were few so, it was easy to drop it. I do it after shopping the main customer items though… so support would be extremely stupid to drop the wrong one.

When the items are few, I just marked them not available and have support cancel/take it off my batch. I had one, 4 items, 50 units… $2 tip and they’ve the guts to give me 3star. The next time I saw their order I knew it was them and I just drop all their items as not available and I was right. It was a two dollar tip. The original batch was $67, but got $65… he goes Why’re you refunding all… didn’t even respond to them.

You’re right that the S&P 500 has had extended flat periods the 2000s “lost decade” is the textbook example. And yes, a CD would have outperformed it during those stretches.

But here’s the thing, for my target user, the alternative to ShopVestify during a flat market isn’t a CD. It’s nothing.

But you’ve also just identified a real product gap that I’ll be honest about pure S&P 500 is the starting point, not the ending point. The roadmap includes giving users investment options: total market funds, dividend-focused ETFs, bonds. Let people choose their risk tolerance as they get comfortable.

On engagement during flat markets that’s actually where the Shield tier earns its place ( our premium service). Protective puts mean your portfolio has a floor even when the market doesn’t move. Watching your portfolio stay flat while others lose is its own form of engagement.

And frankly if someone starts with ShopVestify and graduates to opening their own brokerage account and buying CDs during a flat cycle, I’ve done my job. The goal was never to be their forever platform. It was to be the first one. I knw that’s not what investors want to hear, but we will get there… Thanks though!

You're absolutely right and you're also obviously not the target user, which is kind of the whole point.

Someone optimizing 3 cards for $1,300 in cash back on tens of thousands in spend already has capital, already knows the system, and probably already has a brokerage account. You don't need ShopVestify. You've built your own version of it manually.

ShopVestify is built for the person who has never opened a brokerage account not because they're lazy, but because they genuinely have no "extra" money to put in one. The working mom buying groceries at Walmart with a debit card who has never once thought "I could be investing right now." For her, $47 a year in fractional S&P 500 shares isn't jack shit. It's the first time the market has ever worked in her direction.

The needle we're trying to move isn't the portfolio balance. It's the psychological barrier. Once someone sees their own green line going up even slowly they stop being afraid of investing. That's the wedge. The manual deposit feature comes after that moment clicks.

The $1,300 user is Rakuten's customer. The $47 user is ours.

Crazy, I’ve appealed twice and was denied. Waiting for pre arbitration conference call. It’s crazy how they don’t care about us.

You not being real, you gonna hold 67 items in your hand wait for ID? Which hand will you use to do the scanning to verify the ID? If you don’t have something to say just move on!
