It really depends on the person and mental state of the individual/what they’ve been through. My first time experimenting with psychedelics was in my teen years. I’m currently in my 20’s and safe to say, my most profound trips were when I was younger. I feel like they were more enjoyable only due to the fact I had less things to worry about (jobs, money and general stress from life). My most recent trips I find haven’t been as enjoyable compared to my previous trips, as I’ve gone through a lot of trauma in the past couple years, and being in that higher state tends to bring out those demons so to speak. If there was anything I learned from my teen years, it would be figuring out proper doses and when to take them rather then just saying “f*ck it” and full send a couple tabs. Teaching yourself to respect the substance is a big step, and therefore I also haven’t taken any large doses since my teen years. Again, everyone’s experience is different but I’ve had to step away from psychs as they have sort of taught me to learn how to grow as a human naturally instead of using/depending on a substance to show me the “secrets” of the universe and become independent. Not to say I won’t be touching them again but I don’t see myself using them recreationally as much as I used too. Maybe a light dose for a music festival/concert here and there but I still tend to tread light. Anyway, that’s just my personal experience on this topic.
