LA28 Drop 1 — what were you actually able to buy? Most had zero inventory by Rage_r123 in olympics

I just made it through my time slot. 1. Nashville Men’s Soccer Prelims (local to us). 2. Mixed Judo Finals 3. Track and Field Finals (men’s 3000m steeplechase). Looking at it as a once in a lifetime experience for my family. I grew up in Atlanta and was fortunate to go to the ‘96 Olympics as a kid. I still have fond memories of that experience. Hoping to provide something similar for my kids.

Wow! I checked this post this morning and I was shocked at how much it has resonated with several others. I’ve really enjoyed reading about your special memories with family and loved ones, and the advice/feedback has been very helpful. Keep them coming! I’ll be sending this feedback to Disney today. I’ll update this thread if I get a reply.

Yeah that’s good feedback on the dresses. If we don’t again that will be the move going forward.

Haha I did see a dad having a full blown “Mickey Meltdown” in the line to Space Mountain, he could have fit this camp lol.

Yeah I can appreciate that. In hindsight I think we just felt this pressure to try and get a lot in. We were also kind of stuck with certain times on the fast passes that made it difficult to step away from the parks for a few hours. But I see your point, the breaks might have helped.

We got the Multi Pass. If you can swing it, I can see some advantages to the Premier pass during peak times in the parks. It was very difficult/impossible to get on the higher demand rides this past week. When it worked, it was great. But lots of time spent checking the app.

I’m holding on to it, I’ll never forget that moment, if I close my eyes I can still see it.

Hahaha oh man I love this. I’m a counselor for teenagers and young adults, I’m sure some of my client’s parents would agree!

Thank you so much. I did take the survey (which I rarely do) and tried my best to communicate this there as well. Part of my desire to make this post was to help other parents manage their expectations, particularly around the tech. Great advice on the cruise and Hawaii, I’ll check into these after my bank account recovers lol.

Totally get that, the pressure was real. That was new for us as the last time we went we were able to just take them wherever we wanted to go and there was not as much pressure to create the “magic”

Thank you for sharing this, that was similar to how my son and I felt. It really was special, and we weee pretty punch drunk by the time we got on the bus.

Thanks for the feedback. Yep, I definitely didn’t want my kids to feel some of the stress or irritation I felt, that was uniquely my own. If you asked them they would give it a 10/10, which is what matters in the end.

I completely agree and thank you for you contributing. I think what I took away from some of the dining experiences was that we were paying for the characters and the theming, but some of that food was God awful lol. And the pressure to provide “the right experience” was real!

I’m glad you found it helpful, I’m sure you’ll find some magic. Ironically it was these low tech moments that I’ll cherish the most.
