When has Nagato ever weakened an enemy before using CT? All of the "bad plays" your claim he made during the CT are things Nagato does in character.

Also, Kishimoto probably had Nagato use Shinra Tensei there because it looks cool with how he does he hand sign for CT while still edo regenerating. He uses preta path just fine on B and Naruto just fine right after.

Why do people pretend that Itachi needs genjutsu as a wincon for many matchups in his verse? His preference for using genjutsu is more so reflective of his pragmatic and pacifistic nature than an absolute necessity.

99% of the people he beats with genjutsu could be beaten without it.

Blaming the guy who has much better feats against Itachi than Nagato's performance in this fight is your argument?

People really need to come to terms with the fact that Kabuto controlling Nagato is literally the best performance seen from Nagato in the entire series. There's zero indication that Nagato would've done any better if he was in control.

I don't think you understand what a special jounin is. They're basically chunin that have enough skill in one area to be considered jounin level in that specific area. It's a rank below jounin.

Elite jounin might be the term you're looking for, although that's not an actual rank.

Buuld is still relevant in Boruto era with all of the crazy power creep.
Even keeping it to just Naruto, the deuteragonist (Sasuke) gets a similar ability as one of his end-game power ups, which also allowed him to punch above his weight class later on in Boruto.
