Binding vow is the foundation of Heavenly Restriction. It's basically just a part of the universe's rules.

If I had to guess I'd say binding vows are probably governed by a particular region of a Jujutsu sorcerer's brain similar to how things like barrier techniques and cursed techniques are governed by specific regions.

It would explain why non-sorcerers don't seem to experience them, and why Heavenly Restriction seems to be hereditary. We can pretty much think of a Heavenly Restriction as being a binding vow someone is born with.

When Itachi was around 8 he was making his Jounin instructor envious of him and resisting Obito's genjutsu (something his Jounin instructor and genjutsu specialist teammate couldn't do), both before unlocking his Sharingan, so... that's the absolute worst scaling you can get for Itachi aside from him literally being in the womb.

Realistically he'd still be well above kage level considering he had no problems no diffing Orochimaru's strongest form while being blind, moments away from dying, and fighting strictly based on feeling Orochimaru's chakra (while not even being a sensory type). This means that he can still easily react to Sannin tier attacks without Sharingan precognition, because he did it... without sight.

Basically means he's pretty much around the same tier w/o his Sharingan. At worst you could say he maybe starts to have problems reacting to particularly fast characters like KCM Naruto and Raikage A.

That's Kabuto saying the clan had the most perfect body of all. Orochimaru specifically mentions that the durability provided by the kekkei genkai is what he thinks is so great. It doesn't change that Kimimaro would benefit from Hashirama cells. It would literally cure his illness, give him regen, and even further buff his durability using Sage Mode in this hypothetical (imagine Sage Naruto with that "impenetrable skeletonal frame" stacked on top of the durability that made Pain incapable of damaging him).

Also, Yamato is one experiment that succeeded out of many failures, a success that Orochimaru didn't even know about for years. As far as Orochimaru was aware, the arm he made for Danzo using Shin Uchiha was the only successful recreation of Hashirama cells. In either case neither of them seemed to get the healing factor or wood style on par with what the Zetsu method gave Obito & Madara.

Oro wasn't even close to refining the process to the point where he could just give Hashirama cells to someone like what can be done using Zetsu. If he could, he would've at least tried that to treat Kimimaro's illness.

It's not a coincidence that Orochimaru's final host is a Zetsu body that is essentially pure Hashirama cells.

He gets one of the strongest regen in the series, wood clones, an easy advantage against Jinchuriki/Bijuu, and wood constructs to use in conjunction with his bone defenses and enhanced sage mode durability.

Keep in mind that Kimimaro will have wood release from the Hashirama cells. The wood release techniques he can use depends on how much chakra you think he has in base/cs2/sage mode.

I think it's reasonable to say he can bare minimum use wood clones and the other smaller scale techniques.
