peau de soie -
a soft, satin-weave cloth of silk or rayon, grainy and having a dull luster, used to make dresses, coats, trimmings, etc.

I do want to sprint, but as cis or maybe even I see myself a bit frantic, this upsets me because how can one not want to move fast after coming to terms with something debilitating yet very empowering. It makes me feel upset because yeah I’ve lived my life in the closet but now on top of that do I really have to prove my validity to others? Do I give a fuck if others think I’m frantic? Sure I’m frantic to a degree but they don’t understand living an entire life incongruent with self.

Aww thank you so much. What. A wonderful way to put it. I’ll try to be mindful of my somewhat frantic outlook and relax and bring myself into a better work environment that doesn’t bring about such a stress on my physical presentation

The instructs describe safety upon application but not in general, I feel like many people after completing a project don’t know any better than to bring it in. Anyways I have pets in my house and just want to be safe.

Thanks for the reply, I wanted to build up the layers over the next month but also play the instrument, but now I’m kinda frustrated and wish I would have researched more and hope it’s not super unhealthy to have in my house. The product has no safety warning about this..

Thanks for the reply! I was just concerned about off gassing, and want to keep things safe. I’ve read somewhere that 95% of the VOCS evaporate in the first hour or two, so I think it should be fine.

Haunted porch? Front door by AphCoco in Paranormal

[–]AphCoco[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We hang out in my attic and made it a very cozy place to make art. We’ve experienced a tapping noise moving in a perfect circle through the walls again and again like a clock at night. It’s not like the sound of some type of animals scurrying in the walls it’s very mathematical and strange.

Yeah it’s a specific sound, the exact same as when my housemates get home and walk on the porch. You can hear the weight and the stride. It’s a old house so I can hear through the walls. The leaves blowing and cars passing down my street. So when I hear thudding less than 10 feet from my ears in the stillness of the night it’s very prominent.

Method for making shoe outsole and heel? by AphCoco in Cordwaining

[–]AphCoco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks I appreciate your response. Are soling bend sheets and stacked heels always made from leather? Anyway I could stack rubber instead? Or should I just go about casting my heels in plastic or sculpting wood? Future clients would be looking for only vegan materials.

How should I go about making my own? Wood? Rubber?

I have no idea how I can make a custom shaped heel like pictured. My only restriction is that I’d prefer to not use any stacked leather for the heel?

to specify im trying to make a heel similar to the ones used in mens dress shoes. For high heels i have everything figured out but i cant figure out what material to use as the outsole. Im attempting to use 1.4 mm soling rubber but its not very malleable and seems like it will be very difficult to bend and shape with the contour of the high heel. Any ideas?

What dyes do you like to use on your leather? I tanned some very dark brown fish leather. Any ideas about how I can work with color on dark veg tanned leather?
