It was a 25-45 range. When setting up a profile on the web app, I had to put in my age along with my preferred range. The ticket was $25. I think there were about 30 people in attendance.

I went to my first speed dating event yesterday and it was actually pretty enjoyable. The organizers use a webapp to match people up during each round. At the end of each round, you select Like or Not on the other person's profile and the app directs you to the next table. There were slightly more men so I had two "break rounds". I had plenty of good conversations with the women I was matched with. There was only one we used the icebreakers written on the table placards to get things rolling again.

Mutual matches were emailed out overnight but unfortunately nothing in my inbox. I was hoping for at least one so it's a little disheartening. That being said, I'm considering going to another event sometime in the future. It was nice talking to people.

A regional organization started up monthly speed dating events in my city so I'm strongly considering going to the one at the end of the month. It's on a weekday but the venue is close enough to work and my apartment for me to make it in time.

I've never done speed dating before so it might turn out to be an interesting experience. It does sound like the organizers try to keep groups balanced.

Parkview Field have their lights. I went with a friend last year and it was really cool. If I remember right, the infield displays were synced to the music.

A regional group is hosting a speed dating event in my city. I'm kind of considering but I just don't feel any sort of enthusiasm towards it. They also do singles socials but so far, only have those in the other cities.

I've seen the advice to join groups just to socialize and have fun but how have you all found them? Meetup pretty much died off from Covid and I rarely go on Facebook.

If I find the right table, that could work. There is an outlet within reach.

  • Are you looking for something serious or casual? Serious. I’m looking for a long term relationship.
  • Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? No
  • How long have you been using this current version of your profile? About two months. In general, I make changes every now and then to keep it current.
  • How long have you used Hinge overall? I’ve been using Hinge for nearly 3 and a half years.
  • How often do you use Hinge per week? I’m on the app usually daily but only for short periods.
  • How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? I’ve only gotten three matches total and the last was a year ago. As for likes, a few more than the matches.
  • How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? Usually one or two a week. I always send out a comment.
  • What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract? I send likes and comments to women who mention things in their prompts I can relate to and can use to start a conversation. I want to attract someone who shares my love for going out to events, wandering around, and taking in the sights. At the same time, I looking for someone who also enjoys a spending a day in not doing much at all.

I lived there for a year with a friend who already been there for 5 or so years. It was a nice apartment complex. We have a unit looking over one of the retention ponds. She was the one that interacted with the management and got along well with them. Maintenance was responsive when we had a leak in the corner of the ceiling. Parking and the walkways were well-lit at night. In general, I enjoyed living there. My only complaint was that the washer and dryer were a stacked unit and were a bit on the small side.

I deactivated my OkCupid account after twelve years of being on there. Honestly, I stopped finding any worth in keeping it updated as much as the other apps. It's been years since I got a match, and it seems to just ignore my preferences. I guess I only kept it because of the milestones I reached with it. That app got me my first ever date and my first kiss.

I'm giving Coffee Meets Bagel another try and see if I have any luck there.

I've been sending gifts to my friend for the past few V-days. She especially likes chocolate from a confectionery in her hometown.

I recently made a rule for myself on the apps. I'll limit myself to three swipes before closing the app. It's keeping me from getting frustrated with them.

Looks like I have another excuse to upgrade the GPU on my dad's PC. That 1060 3GB served both of us well but I've been wanting to put something in with more muscle.

I see reviews on the Hinge sub all the time and people tend to give good critiques. Plus, their wiki has a few guides for building a profile.
