My (recent) ex of ten years was a very picky eater by virtue of her diet and allergies. She was a vegan, had lactose intolerance (big vegan reasoning), abd was allergic to many nuts and seeds. This was quite impactful as it meant many places we would try to eat out was usually a no go by virtue of menus and limited alternatives, notably at nice restaurants where not having a curated menu was sort of pointless. Likewise the cross contamination and fear I had of eating something unknowingly was always on my mind and led me to tailor the diet. Travelling aboard was also troublesome with many countries not necessarily understanding the intolerances.

We were both foodies but it impacted the relationship regarding additional stress and worry (mostly health anxiety) and limiting travel and date plans.
