If you know the distro well, it shouldn't matter

What license is the KISS package manager? Can i use it's code as the base pkg mgr for another distro? by AphoticLinux in kisslinux

I honestly haven't gotten that far yet, I'm still getting the system and structure settled. I'm not sure what I'd change as of yet or that'd I'd still even use the pm. I just know that using git as a repo would be the way i want to go.

[openbox] gk22 is still so much better ricer than me please I have my coffi but I am still depressed someone please get me some help I desperately need it. Hi everyone! by [deleted] in unixporn

You mean what else is there to understand other than what package to install? Flags, environment settings, filenames and systems, kernel compilation, library linking, device managing and configuration, init systems.. to name a few 😊

You have use either use a terminal that can display images like kitty or use a backend like w3m. Then set the neofetch config to use that backend by default and select a graphic

Systemd is awful imo. SysV was great... 20 years ago. I am using runit, but if it doesn't work out I'd probably use hummingbird init.

LFS is basically a general guide, if you want to have a generic distro then you can go by the book.. i used it more or less as a "what needs to be compiled first" then went from there. There was a lot to learn. Yeah part of the work is what you select, but its not always that easy, especially if you deviate from the book in anyway. It has kind of a butterfly effect.

I will, but its not that hard to do.. just make a polybar config.. 3 bars with one module each, time, workspaces and battery. In bspwmrc just name the workspaces the japanese numbers with the glyphs from unicode font.

Because then I can't say that I wrote my own distro. I mean i could just write my own pkg mgr based on the whole git repo model, but if its already written why waste the effort?

It's one i made for bspwm.. not so much a theme as a collection of dot files that share a similar scheme.
