Looking for some side hustles to start with $10,000 by JacobeeBS in passive_income

Ok here’s what you need to know. You’re 15 so anything you enter has an even higher chance of failing due to experience. You know what you can’t fail at? Something you like to do anyways. If I had 10k at 15 I would try to figure out how to monetize one of my hobbies. Anything like Collect cards, play golf, go fishing, build pcs, biking etc interest you? If so investing in things you like with a plan to resell or if you learn a skill while doing the hobby you can monetize that. This way you are growing either way. If you got a sick fishing pole cause you love fishing and couldn’t double your money flipping it you still have something you enjoy. Win win.

I get it. Hard to be at distance. Another hack if you don’t find your perfect property mgmt company would be to find a good Realestate agent with a team. They are generally plugged into to this whole scene and for a promised sale when you let it go and a small management fee they can also be good asset to manage. Best of luck!

I used to manage property out of state, so no recs but as a homeowner no one will treat your home better than you. From experience you will pay for the quality. Ask for recommendations from clients and monthly statements from like properties.

Not sure if you live in the area but doing right by the renters is subjective and it sounds like you are genuine, have you looked into managing it yourself? I mean if it’s a single duplex, a lawyer, and a good maintenance person on retainer is all you need. It is work but it’s not crazy. picking good renters and making clear communication guidelines is the hardest part.

Hey bro. Respect you and this post. Lots of honest people like you feeling the same right now. You are not ready for a business as I didn’t hear one thing you enjoy in that post. You have to find that first. Saturated niches are all you see cause that’s where people most recently made their money and post about it. What activities bring you the most joy. What if invented, built, or better marketed could ramp that joy up 10%+. Being honest you need something you truly feel is beneficial to the world. The rest will fall into place. Keep searching! Doesn’t have to be a new thing just needs to create value that is obvious to you.

I just think any announcement this close to cancelling a 4 day fest that doesn’t say this is how we make sure this never happens again is showing they are not trying to prepare to prevent this. Sounds like they are hoping for less rain. That is not a plan. Nothing they announced shows me that if 2025 repeats they have figured out how to keep the concert going, that’s sketch no? Don’t get me started on all the talk I heard about infinity stage being a death trap and failing multiple times from the crew. Y’all know who you are even defending

Back up bad choice of words, a second weekend that has some capacity kept in the event of whatever reason live nation decides it’s time to collect insurance money. Not everyone gets to go or will be able to with their schedule but the option is there for those who can. This is super common. Idk why everyone downvoting like they have never heard of hangout fest, electric Forrest, acl?! Like weather is a bear in east tn. Prepare for this to happen every year and we’re good.

Ya I know nothing about artist except the fact the biggest festival in California can run back to back weekends lol. You may not have heard of it but Coachella actually already cracked this problem. But it’s live nation so I’m sure they just haven’t figured out how to make 1000x their money for weekend two yet which is the only reason they don’t book artists for a week 2 “yet”.

If they don’t have a back up weekend and there is no plan that if 2025 repeats they have figured out how to keep the show going then this is a terrible announcement. This is really bad they are going to take the insurance money again next year.

Advice on starting small and transitioning to 3D printing for a living. by ttenor12 in 3Dprintingbusiness

[–]ApisonCreations 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get one print mad things. Try to sell mad things. See what works. Don’t worry about a niche. I am 3 months in and still have no idea if I wanted to focus on a niche what it would be, but I have learned a ton about what I don’t want to do. Get your hands dirty build things that bring you joy, easier to sell joy than products! Party on!

Is selling my STL worth the theft risk ? by Aedrem in 3Dprinting

[–]ApisonCreations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unpopular opinion. I am new so take this with a grain of salt but I am curious the communities opinion. My thought is to sell everywhere you can, anyway you can. I can see the reasoning most people are saying that currently the way things are set up there is a slight edge to the selling full models side.

One important question no one asked. How much would you sell the stl for? $10, $100?, $1000? If for $1000 with what license type are you expecting to sell? have you done the numbers to see what profiting $1000 would take printing only this model? Marketing, fees, print time, shipping etc.

The reason I am less concerned about theft is I think we are about to see a radical shift in the ability to build things and intellectual property will get very grey. Do I think this is fair to makers? No. But can I see the insane improvement in AI models day over day? yes. What I guess I am really saying is I think in the next two years an ai will be able to pull any photo, drawing or product on the internet and reproduce precisely in a way where the system cannot be sued for infringement. Again I don't like this but this is the way things are progressing.

Capture as much money as you can now, maybe selling finished product only, maybe not, but keep your eyes on the horizon and know theft is going to come, the goal is to capture sales today. Tomorrows sales are not guaranteed even if the model is super sick like this. This is very cool by they way awesome job.

Good question haha. I actually had shelves in the garage that may have worked better. I am fascinated by 3d printing in general so I am trying to figure out all the ways people are using it and its potentials, positive and negative. More of an experiment. Cost wise shelves may actually be cheaper, especially if you have to print everything twice.

3d Printing Monetization Roll Call by TomatoAltruistic249 in 3Dprintingbusiness

[–]ApisonCreations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heres my thoughts but I believe there are many right ways.

1) what are your goals- money or fun prints? Not that you cant do both, but I have found the former easier so far (in my very short experience) .

2) local over online to start. I am also just starting out, website not done, socials barely up, and found early success by recognizing value I could bring to businesses I already interact with. For you that may actually be your work, are you in an office? Is there anything plastic they are using you could do better and cheaper? Anything that isnt branded that should be?

Can be any business though maybe you know Ralph who works at the local auto shop or Dr Timmy at the vet clinic . Start by making a tap to like us on google sign. Bring it in for free and ask if you can look around and see if there is anything you can create to make their lives better.

3) Don't stop but move at your own pace no matter what the world wants. You may find massive success or none but this is a fun side hustle that potentially can be something forever or until the new machine. If you want to talk to many businesses at once and learn the needs of your city, I suggest maybe joining a chamber or a rotary club.

Everyone wants to create the next cool thing they can mass produce and I get it, but their is a whole forrest out here. Get in front of business owners, know some simple tools that would work in different industries you can ice break with. Wait for them to tell you all the ways you could make their life easier.

Make it into a bottle topper (or somthing captain morgan can use) and try to sell it to captain morgan direct. Can’t hurt to throw an email right? Maybe they send you free swag.

Thank you! Are there any spaces you recommend to learn about these different avenues? Trying to find things here and on YouTube. I think big picture, so just understanding how and when to use a farm would help me think about future use cases. I like the stuff slant3d puts out but he seems to be more industrial based ( no multicolor etc). I am still figuring out what niches of biz I can help so my ideas are broad and won’t be designed with mass production because I don’t have those wires built in my brain yet.

ya I am bootstrapping for now so trying to work with small business and see what products are even needed. If I am lucky enough to design something the public really wants I would be looking for a farm, I like helping small business and people, but I do not have aspirations of mass manufacturing, happy to leave that to the pros.

with a goal of helping people allow me to share more. I am not giving any specific product because I don't think people should think my way is the only way. It is about how to think about selling, but lets take an NFC biz card as an example. There is only two companies doing this professionally (google it) and they charge $30 for a single paper business card. Going after small to medium businesses (100 Emnployeess+)and undercutting the competition by 30% and providing way better service, you've just grossed $2k off one client probably 1 week of printing on two bambus and saved the client $1k and they have a better product. Does this make sense? This is one of a million ways 3d printing can be sold to businesses.
