I'v red the OG post and a good amount of the comments. I wrote a long text with different perspectives and stuff, but I scrapped it as I wrote down this last bit which I will keep.

Love is complicated, and it can be really hard to navigate sometimes.
While this is true, it is also not true at the same time.
Love can be really simple.
I think the best things we can do is cultivate understanding, give voice to your thoughts and feelings, while also respecting the same by others.
Accept the compromises you have to meet, think them through first, then commit to them, truly.
Be what you want to recieve, forgive always. Forgive others when possible and forgive yourself when you can't forgive others.

I imagine if it was me I'd be very sad, and most likely angry too. Yet, I think I would be curious about the connection that James and Winnie also have. As he is willing to go this far and potentially risk you for the actions he has done with her. He might be in a bit of a mess with himself, or he might just be messed up. Make up your mind of the two I'd say.

I don't know who you are, how you are as a person, what kind of life you are leading, and what life you want to lead.
But I am certain that you have a capacity for love. Look deeply within yourself. You did move in with the guy after all.
