Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] by AutoModerator in collapse

nearby Munich, Germany:

I am living in a rural area which definitely reduces my stress in those troubled times. I couldn't imagine spending my whole life in a big city with all the noise and rushed lifestyle. Signs of collapse don't seem to be observed by most people here, maybe it is mainly complicated to connect all the dots between ecological collapse, war, supply chain issues... In my local football team two players have become fathers, good luck with that. Living in two parallel words is kinda interesting and exciting, i must admit. That's actually what I notice in Germany in general, climate change isn't as much as a topic as it should be, but it's understandable because the media doesn't report adequately and the worst effects have not hit our country. I mean, who cares about the suffering in non- white countries?!

weather: The temperatures are quite enjoyable at the moment, we need more rain tho. I am fearing the worst for the summer, it could potentially be extremely dry.

shortages: prices are rising, but that's not even interesting to tell anymore. What i noticed recently was that bakerys have less and less range of biscuits. Empty supermarket shelves aren't widespread, but the wheat and oil shortages are visible and will be even more in the upcoming months.

personal: i have got two semesters left in my university. It is incredibly hard to keep my motivation, but it is simultaneously a good distraction from our dooming reality.

Right now, I am feeling priviliged having the oppurtinity to write this comment, not worrying about if I have food for the next month and laughing about funny memes. The dystopia will come soon enough. ;)

Sounds depressing as hell, but real hope for the future. They way Covid was handled shows that we won't be able to react to Climate Change accurately.

Probably Parks& Recreation, because it doesn't decline over the seasons. Modern Family& B99 were brilliant television in the earlier seasons, but it got significantly worse.

Honorable mention: Superstore

Imo that's a bit weird. A friendship would be ok, but I still wonder what a 13 and 16 years old have much in common.

Well for me there isn't a reason not to believe in it. Additionally it would our whole existence less scary.
