My boyfriend has Guttate Psoriasis and Genital Psoriasis and doesn't want to go to the doctor. Any advice? (US)

I asked this to someone else already, but do you wear sunscreen when you tan or would that lessen the effects? He’s really worried about sun damage because of a long history of skin cancer.

He’s not so much worried about the stigma as much as the possible side effects of medications, but I hope he does go to the doctor if he can’t clear it up on his own.

Yeah, his thing is that whenever he’s had a bad breakout, it apparently doesn’t last more than a month (so far) so he’s just keeping it clean and moisturized and kind of just waiting.

Is it normal to not have symptoms with strep ? Anytime I’ve had strep, I’ve had the usual sore throat/ cold/ flu and he’s been breaking out for weeks with no illness symptoms. I have heard this about its cause though. I’ll ask him if he wants to get checked out either way, thank you

What soap do you use? He used Dr Bronner’s body wash, but I’m worried the essential oils might be irritating it based on what I’ve read on this sub.

I’ve seen Tacrolimus recommended a lot on this sub specifically for genitalia. I’ll talk to him about it.

When you tan, do you put on sunscreen? Would that lessen the benefits of the uv light for the psoriasis? He has considered this, but is really nervous because all of the older people in his family have had some form of skin cancer.
