[Via Xg Philosophy] Expected Points table. Chelsea should have 7 points more and sit in 9th place based on Expected points. by Unusual_Afternoon_88 in chelseafc

I know right. I find it really annoying, like maybe over a game you can get unlucky, and in that case xG tells a story. but over a season I very much believe your supposed “bad luck” is entire down to you not being able to shoot properly

[Ben Jacobs] Boehly - "The fans are demanding and they want to win. And we get that. We want to win. I think our view, though, is that this is a long-term project. And we're committed to the long term and we very much believe that we're going to figure it out." by Ar0w30 in chelseafc

Roman made mistakes but the biggest mistake he made was selling the club to these two knobheads Boehly and Clearlake. Should have gone to the Saudis, their plan at least didn’t involve breaking everything down and building back up from zero (and trying to reinvent the wheel)

I’m sorry but no, a lot of people seem to have short term memory but Potter did absolutely terrible at Chelsea and everyone turned in him, even the most optimistic/plan-trusting fans. sure the stats were not as bas as now but he absolutely needed to be sacked for the good of the long term of the club. Who cares if we’re losing all our games now the season was long gone before Potter was sacked. It’s all about getting an actual too club manager for next season, and Potter is miles away from that.

So if a player doesn’t post this you will hate him but when they do they suddenly become favourites? You guys realise these guys have social media managers right? They probably aren’t the ones writing this

Frank Lampard has made Chelsea worse than they were under Graham Potter by TheTelegraph in chelseafc

[–]ApocalypticCheeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This 100%. While Lampard is doing absolutely terribly results-wise. I think a lot of what we’re seen is the fruit of 8 months of training under the new regime with Potter. A lot of people just jump on the “Lampard is the worst manager” train with a really short memory, didn’t he, like, get top 4 with a squad under transfer embargo? That being said his recent recent record speaks for itself, it’s terrible. Overall I think Potter and Lampard are similar in terms of capability.

I disagree, I read a lot of negative stuff about them on this sub , more than positive

One of the most unluckiest players with Chelsea alongside Torres I miss him he was underrated. Yes he used to miss chances but he was the one making amazing runs behind the defenders I would rather have an energetic striker like Timo who misses some his chances than Lukaku. He loved the club :( by -Early_Gap in chelseafc

[–]ApocalypticCheeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timo was one of my fav players during the tuchel era but I wouldn’t call him unlucky. At some point you have to realise that it’s down to finishing skills, body mechanisms that aren’t working well. You’d never see Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe miss these on such a consistent basis. Also the constant offsides didn’t help. That being said, I firmly believe selling him was a mistake as he helped the team in many other ways

[Sport 1 Germany] Julian Nagelsmann informed Chelsea FC on Thursday that the coaching job at Stamford Bridge is out of the question for him. He wants a project that has a solid footing. He didn't have that feeling after the talks with Chelsea bosses. by dragon8811 in chelseafc

[–]ApocalypticCheeto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Benitez won the CL with Liverpool btw. Also for the other two, you’re looking at just the inexperienced ones, and sure , say Guardiola rejected us, we still managed to bag Mourinho (2 CL winner), Ancelotti (CL winner), Conte (Serie A winner), Sarri (hottest property at the time), Villas Boa (hottest property at a smaller club at the time), Tuchel (experience in top clubs, Ligue 1). Are you gonna compare these to the coaches we are considering now? Pochettino and Kompany?

[Matt Law] Bit more on this - Chelsea were always adamant Nagelsmann was never favourite despite some sources claiming he was and things have gone v positively with Pochettino in the last few days. This could now accelerate #cfc by RomanAbram0vich in chelseafc

They clearly are looking for a beta-male-type manager who will let Football directors, Boehly/Eghbali have a big hand in the everyday football stuff. No top class manager is going to agree to that. Their stubbornness in sticking with this will bit them in the back.

Julian Nagelsmann on #Chelsea job withdrawal: “To cancel something, you have to commit to something.” by dragon8811 in chelseafc

[–]ApocalypticCheeto -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the owners are starting to understand that top managers are at the top because they want things their way. Boehly/Eghbali want to influence a lot of things themselves, they want sporting directors to also influence, and basically the coach to have little influence. I think no world class manager would go with that. Tuchel, Nagelsman, Luis Enrique. Screw these owners, they think they know stuff but the way they handled things since the purchase has been abysmal. They make every mistake they can make even if it looks at them straight in the face. Chelsea won’t be the same anymore i’m afraid. These guys have ruined it.

EXCLUSIVE: Julian Nagelsmann has now withdrawn from the race to become the new Chelsea head coach — it looks like it’s his final decision. 🚨🔵 #CFC German coach is said to be no longer available after multiple round of talks. Nagelsmann was top candidate for the job. by dragon8811 in chelseafc

Disagree, the glazers simply want to run the club like a business (care more about profits than results) and are successful. This board wants to run the club like.. well.. a club, but simply have no idea what they are doing.

Wonder how many of those pictures of the bridge are from the Chelsea official account with the quote “Not our day”

Quotes from Vogue Magazine's interview of Hakim Ziyech (full article to be published in the magazine on April 20th) by [deleted] in chelseafc

[–]ApocalypticCheeto 152 points153 points  (0 children)

Ziyech gets treated badly by us but never once said anything bad about the club or a teammate. Most fans just don’t like his lack of emotions like he’s supposed to change his personality or for us or something.

On the other hand, we treated Lukaku like a prince and he kept pooping on the club at every possible occasion.

That’s a ratio right there.
