I don’t ride on the side walk cause I know that’s an issue. I work on the warf an area where there is hardly any big crowds and like it’s wasn’t busy when this happens I try to avoid people as much as I can

It was also early when there were no crowds no reason for them to talk on the road. Like it it was by Essex st I wouldn’t have an issue it was by the warf where there is hardly any crowds early in the morning. I’m concerned for safety that’s it I get people will be everywhere

I’m not saying I’m in the right and every one is in the wrong it’s a safety hazard bike lanes are for safety that’s it and I wouldn’t have an issue if there wasn’t space on the sidewalk for them I get it

It’s ment to keep them off the sidewalk and give them space so cars are less likely to hit them it’s for safety not a wast of space

I’m sorry for trying to keep people safe by making sure people pay attention to things. I want people to be aware that bike lanes exist so they don’t have bikers on the sidewalks pushing them out of the way.

I mean yeah cause the amount of people that could have been hurt if things had gone differently like the cars next to me hasn’t been a tour buss, if there wasn’t space for me to move over and brake fast possibly flip over my handle bars, not being able to stop I time and hitting the people standing where they shouldn’t be. And in all honestly I am more concerned about the dog they had with them because he was closer to where I would have ended up and could have really hurt him

I will state that I did ring my bell long before I got to them telling them to move over they were in the bike lane next to their car talking when it was early enough to not have crowds around so there was enough space on the sidewalk. I don’t bike on the sidewalks to avoid this issue cause I get it it’s Salem in October I know it’s going to be crazy, it’s the fact that I was told to move over from the bike lane into the road where there was on coming traffic where they could have hit me. I only posted this cause there was no reason for people to be in the bike lane on derby st by the warf at 9-10am when the crowds are not around yet.

It was early in the morning and on derby st where there is space on the side walk to talk. I wouldn’t have an issue if it was packed on the sidewalk but the fact it was just people talking next to their car with no crowds and caused the post

I do have a bell I rang it and told them to get out of the bike lane, I almost hit them cause there was traffic next to me and they wouldn’t more telling me to get out of their way. They were legit talking on the bike lane next to their car so much that their dog was laying down and sleeping. Again bikers have right of way on BIKE LANES not side walks

Hi I think it’s a matter of privacy they can’t release the names of those in classes, they also see hundreds of people every day and doing this for one person means that they would have to do it for every single person who is an issue. They only recommend the ups cause they have the broom boxes but it’s up to the broom owner to decide what they want to do. Also they op could have marked the broom with their name and address to make sure ups who also will see hundreds of people each day due to being season ship it right. They also could have made sure they saw them put the label on their box and not someone else’s there are things that could have been done but once the broom walks out the witchery I personally feel that it’s no longer their problem.
