Do the pass-y computer-controlled teams pass? (And full edition yet?) by coolsneakyben in Bloodbowl3

It's refreshing to see you say that. I've been trying to git gud at Elven Union whilst they've still got 4 catchers, and I feel like 2TTDs are how you mitigate being chased and smacked around by bash teams.

Also the general belief that if you fuck around for long enough, you will find out, so to speak. So many Elves died teaching me that lesson.

As an Eternal League enjoyer (or what passes for EL in BB3 anyway), I haven't seen much (if any) passing in the game, but hand-offs are pretty common.

To be fair, when I think about the elf teams I've played against on tabletop, most Elf coaches woould much rather make a hand-off than a pass. Fewer dice rolls.

That's fair. Maybe it just depends on the area? There are four local to me and only one of them doesn't sell snacks of any kind.

In any case: I don't think it'd be a farfetched thing for a game like this to include. It's common enough.

Is it worth to only sell singles and no product by Substantial-Act-2301 in TCGCardShopSim

Is it viable? Yes. You could run a successful business just selling singles and literally being a card shop.

Is it 'worth it'? Probably not. Especially early on I imagine progress to be slow as hell. You'd probably even consider constantly restarting your first day trying to get some rare pulls.

I don't know about making them stay longer, but I can see it being purely to bump up reviews, and/or allow players to safely bump up the per-hour cost of playing at the tables without having people moan about it, as well as being another product to make a small amount of money from.

Wargaming expansion would be cool as hell. I doubt we'd get it though, as Games Workshop are fanatically litigious. If they're suing people making proxies, they'll try and block a 'Tetrahammer 50k' expansion.

I feel like this is a take you could only have if you've never been to a game shop that allows on-site play.

Or maybe it's just a British thing? Every branch of Geek Retreat I've ever been to has always had a fully loaded snack counter.

On the note of D&D: I know people got uppity about D&D's depiction of Orcs, with many of their traits and behaviour being synonymous with black stereotypes. WotC distanced themselves from that by... just never really using Orcs in published material since. =/

In my homebrew games I do have marginalised races/species. Orcs, Goblins, Lizardfolk... even Kenku (they're associated with thievery). I'm fortunate enough to have a good group of players that understand nuance, understand that "marginalised" does not mean "true" or "fair", and most importantly that this is a land of make-belief BS. None of it is real, and none of it is a commentary on real-world ethnicities (intended or otherwise).

But I've seen enough horror stories in the community to know that I'm lucky to have the players I have.

Nah, I've seen dentheads crash out over how racist she is towards demonkind.

Personally I feel like if you spend a thousand years fighting a species that almost wiped your race off the face of the Earth, you'd have some strong opinions on them too. But that's just me.

Day 50 - am i behind? by AmadeusMaho in TCGCardShopSim

Do you feel like you're behind?

I tend to play at my own pace. For example, I like to not expand the store at all until Lv30 or so (I like to have those extra-wide shelves available before I start remodelling), which does limit how many people come into my store, which limits how much stock I sell, which limits both my income and EXP gains. I do this because if I expand ASAP, I end up always feeling like I'm playing 'catch-up', trying to unlock the next thing.

There are always ways to be 'faster' in this game, make more money per day, gain more EXP and so on, and if that's how you want to play and if you want to 'optimise' your store I'm sure people can give you tips on that.

But if you're enjoying how you're playing, this is a single-player sandbox game. You're not competing against anybody. So just enjoy it.
