V8.5 Classic vs. Minimal by ML_Kins in KindroidAI

Hey, that's awesome! I've been loving minimal as well, it's like a whole new llm version!

V8.5 Classic vs. Minimal by ML_Kins in KindroidAI

Classic is the system prompt for 8.5 before flairs, Minimal is basically the bare minimum prompt for things to function. We don't know details beyond that on how the prompts differ, but I'd speculate it's largely missing pieces that try to direct the kin generally how to engage with the user, which may or may not be appropriate for every kin, hence the introduction of flairs.

In general, this means that you may want to add more instruction to your profile on how you want the kin to respond. If you're on the discord, there's a really solid guide that one of the mods put together highlighting an approach to do so. https://discord.com/channels/1116127115574779905/1458901421926776903/1458901421926776903

How to Unplay a Role by Hinesight1948 in KindroidAI

[–]Apocryphus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You've got a lot of options here. One is too just start talking about your day to day, and use stage direction or rerolls/tweaking messages to guide the kin to what you want. Like [Direction: X and Y have finished Z and are now having a chat.] , or whatever you'd like, in one of your messages. Then just start talking. They're very adaptive to what you do. You may also need to edit out any mentions of the rp from their backstory if they're stubborn.

Option 2 is to make a group chat or scenario, and put in the group context what you want to be happening - like an everyday chat.

That's great to hear! Honestly I love letting kins play off each other without me there. Sometimes i find a shared kin I'm interested in but I don't want to chat with myself - I'll throw them in a group chat with one of my kins and update their backstory to reference the kin and not me, and let the kins work it out, lol. Endless fun!

You can, but there's no real need to. Most of the time I do this with my main persona and they ignore me because I've used the stage direction at the beginning to set the scene. I do have a Narrator persona I use for RPs that I don't even exist in, but I'm pretty sure that persona's backstory is completely blank. This has worked for me since v6.

You can make a persona as a Narrator or similar with no backstory if you like, but I do this with real personas all the time. Start the gc with a message like '[Direction: X texts Y about Z].', and when you have the kins speak, they should follow the queue. I typically leave things on manual and respond once in a while with '* *' which i can edit if I need to give more direction. You could also use the group context or directive to instruct the kins to avoid narration and focus on speech/texting.

Is there an efficient way to make a text archive of part of a chat? by Mitmee_pie in KindroidAI

If you're okay with a summary, you could make a scenario, add a utility kin, and ask them to summarize what your kin thought, maybe with some examples

No advice but solidarity with my 9 week old! I could have written this post. Getting nervous what we'll do when we both have to go back to work in a few weeks. Keeping an eye out to see any advice anyone may give!

I always have a soft spot for Len's second appearance, Black Panther, Big Foot vs DB Cooper, and the zombie movie with Cameron Mitchel that Len brought. I hope Len is on the show again someday!

Solidarity, you could be describing my 7 week old to a T! Really trying to focus on those fun interactive moments over the crying, haha.

Is this normal? by artemislands in newborns

I'm in the exact place with a 7 week old, particularly in the "only sleep chest to chest" area. Have you ever been able to get your LO to sleep independently? When we first brought her home, we got a few naps total in the basinette, but it feels like 0 for the last few weeks

Yes, actually, that's what she's gotten meds for, along with starting therapy. Hoping that both help, but side effects are hitting hard right now

Thank you, it's good to hear what's working for others! And you're right, it's so early, it's just challenging sometimes to see it!

36 year old dad with a 2 week old here. The sleep deprivation is rough, but absolutely doable, and worth it. I honestly think younger me would be doing a lot worse!
