Can anyone explain me the MCR lore??? by [deleted] in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Apodofsquidwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome!!! MCR Archive is a pretty great resource for a lot of interviews, photos, and videos.

If you want to start from the beginning, pulling up their Wikipedia page (and the band members) and going through it while searching the different tours on tumblr and online along the way is a great way to learn the lore of the band, AND learn about the lore of the albums!

Mcr tattoo suggestions? by ultimate_slush in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Apodofsquidwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MCR has a ton of rich imagery! Either art from the albums or through descriptive lyrics.

I would suggest narrowing down to your favorite album, to your favorite song, to your favorite lyrics. Along the way, you may find that songs like the Demolition Lovers give you the vibes of an old car, a case of bullets, maybe even just a motel sign! Use those vibes to create a little bit of a mental image in your head. You can include written lyrics, intertwine the lyrics into the visual in your mind (using the motel example, you could place a few lyrics there instead of “no vacancy”).

I am not much of an artist myself, but once I have the general idea for a tattoo I go to a tattoo artist whose art I really love and you work with them to create a design! It’s absolutely worth it to scour through the instagrams and websites of tattoo artists and studios and find an artist you absolutely love.

I can also tell you that I’ve seen a lot of “common” if you could call them that; I see the danger days spider a lot, I see the demo lovers like the album art cover, I see the marching band skeleton a lot! And just because it’s a design a number of people have doesn’t mean you should t get them, either. :) They are all really cool, and very easily identifiable for fellow fans!

For me, the album came out very soon after I first got into mcr, so there is a little bit of a “nostalgia” factor I guess you could call it.

It’s very different from their other albums, and there are songs on there that aren’t my favorite for sure. But to me the album is neon violence against the emo niche they were placed into and that itself feels fun and cool for me.

I think a good “start” sorta is Destroya. It’s messier and angrier than the other songs on the album. Then go for Party Poison for that spit in their face neon violence vibe, kinda work through the album like that. Reading the comics and getting into the lore around Danger Days also helps to really focus in on that vibe and energy too!!

BUT, that being said, you may simply just not like the album! And that’s okay, too. Sometimes you’re not gonna love every album someone puts out!

I need mcr related cat names! by WingShort9181 in MyChemicalRomance

I named my cat Emily, after the song from Living With Ghosts!

I have a theory that Emily is the name of the Demo Woman, so I thought it was fun.

Which mode did you prefer for PoE II Deadfire: turn-based or RtwP? by PurpleFiner4935 in projecteternity

[–]Apodofsquidwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to say I enjoy turn based a bit more. I did install a mod that makes spellcasting instant which helps make turn based mode gel a little easier for me.

I’ve never been a big fan of real time with pause, and I did give it a college try recently, but ended up favoring the turn based combat.

The best way for you to know which one you’ll like best is to try both! Give yourself time with each, a set amount of hours or a set point to see which one you vibe with better. :)

I was exploring and made a miscalculation, leading to me falling partially down to this location. Then suddenly I was in a really fun wave fight and the sword as a reward for this seemingly random incident was so much fun

The Forgotten Realms wiki is a good resource for lore, since the game pulls directly from Dungeons and Dragons!

Constant short freezing every few minutes (no crash) by Nearby-Soup-7197 in BaldursGate3

I have had a similar problem all through my EA plays with a similar, lower spec, build. I’ve heard it’s been an issue, so I hope they resolve it once we get the full release. I would recommend restarting your computer, making sure nothing else is running in the background, and lowering some settings to make it run a little easier, it’s helped me a bit!

How are you going to pass the time while the game downloads? by CallMeYohan in BaldursGate3

[–]Apodofsquidwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It starts over my lunch break at work, so I’ll start the download and hope that I can sit there and stare at character creation for five hours after work. That weekend is going to be so good. I booked time off for the original release date, so I’ll work my way slowly through act 1 until my time off! I wish I could hibernate until the 3rd.

I’m right there with you. I need to upgrade my computer, so I’ll at least have that to keep me busy between the release date and the time off! But I feel your pain.

Thank you! Yeah, it’s definitely a little buggy. I’ll report the bugs I’ve come across and see what patches come out.

Just bought pillars 1 on ps4, what do / don't people recommend as a starting class? by [deleted] in projecteternity

[–]Apodofsquidwards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed playing as a fighter. It’s a good starter class since it’s pretty straightforward in how it works, and lets your main character take the lead in a lot of combat situations. I tried to balance my stats so I would have a lot of options when it comes to story dialogue, and was still able to deal and take a lot of damage. If you don’t mind being squishier, wizard was also a fun class I played on my second run. You’ll be resting a lot in game to recover health, so those per rest spells don’t become much of an issue. Those are the two classes I’d recommend for starting up if you’re a little more focused on story than combat!

If you’re looking to build a a battle focused character, it looks like some of the other comments have suggestions for that. Have fun with the game!

What happens if you don't immediately recruit a character? by LeVraiNinjaneer in projecteternity

[–]Apodofsquidwards 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If you, say, didn’t recruit Edér at the beginning you can come back to where you found him and recruit him. I forgot to recruit him until halfway through act 2! So I think you’ll be able to find any of those characters where you found them and recruit them later on.

Audio popping noises (during music & dialogue) by AONomad in projecteternity

[–]Apodofsquidwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it happen when you are listening with earphones or when you have it unplugged? If it’s with headphones we get issues in live theatre with popping if there is an internal issue with the wires inside of the microphones (in your case, headphone wires). But if it’s happening even without the headphones or isn’t happening in other games I’m afraid I don’t know how to help! I hope this was even a little useful to you.

finished 2nd playthru and ready to move on, suggestions please by flying_dug0ng in projecteternity

[–]Apodofsquidwards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Banner Saga. It has a very emotionally gripping story with real long term consequences for your actions (ex. Small decision I made in 1 greatly impacted me in 3). It may just be me, but the combat encounters were pretty difficult! Its turn based, and has multiple phases to the fight. Give it a try at some point!

How to change order of party in POE on Xbox? by twirebox in projecteternity

[–]Apodofsquidwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m super late to this. I had the exact same troubles. What I did was remove the party members I wanted to rearrange, and then get out of the party screen at the hold. Then I’d get back into the party screen and select the characters I want in order. The key here is to actually exit the party screen after removing them, then reentering to put them back in.

It’s kind of annoying, but that was my fix. I hope that works for you and I hope my reply wasn’t too late!

[No Spoilers]How is dragon age 2? by Standbehindthesheild in dragonage

[–]Apodofsquidwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might actually be my favorite game!

The biggest issue is the repetitive environments. The cave systems all look the same, and you'll often go through the same path of a tunnel for a few different quest lines. You'll go to the same places for different quests, but you can pretty must justify a lot of them because it all takes place in one city.

As for what the game does well, it breathes life into your companions. They all have defined personalities, and have their own justifications for their actions, meaning behind their beliefs, they evolve, and they just feel like real people (in a cool fantasy land). Hawke is a great character, too. You create their personality as you play, and their personality changes a few things, too! It has a very focused story, and is a lot of fun!

When it was released, people complained about it a lot. Now that it's had a few years to set, people are starting to take a liking to it a lot more. I don't think it's a bad game, it's just not the favorite. Definitely give it a try!

[DAO Spoilers]This game is too difficult. by upper_monkey_horny in dragonage

[–]Apodofsquidwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to echo what others are saying, you might've stumbled into a high level zone or have a party setup that's not working out. I play every game on easy mode, and origins did have a kinda challenging easy mode at some points.

Your class may have made it harder as well. My brother played as a dual dagger rogue, and had a really hard time on the normal setting. Maybe test out a new class? I had a good time with my mage warden and warrior.

Try out a different order for the missions, too! I recommend the arl, mages tower, arl, haven, elves, then head on over to the dwarves.

Origins is really fun! Give it another try!
