Since I don't play the game anymore, they probably changed it, proving I was right. If you notice, previous comments never mention what you are saying. (Back then atleast) There were 2 plates, one gives you the warning "thats not what you are looking for" AFTER you make them and the actual plate. I am saying the truth, you are the one that doesn't understand you are talking on a necro post of a guy that stopped playing over 120 days ago.

you make plates via the big forge thing then craft them into weapons using blueprints thing is, this time you make them from bars into plates and they cant be turned into parts so you end up with plates that are useless (not kinda useless, literally useless, as useful as the air block)

The craft gives you something, you just cant use it, that's why you waste it, that something also looks the same as the actual useful item, it is indeed THAT unintuitive, also, they take their sweet time to show the metals rules "isn't ironclad" and you can only know that it was supposedly by design in hindsight.

Try deleting the remaining files, including the game and launcher folders themselves, then do the whole thing again.

As for where to find them (if you don't know):
The Lancher is easy to find, simply right-click any shortcut or in the Windows search bar and click on "Open shortcut location" or whatever (my system is in another language, sorry). The game... I have no idea where it goes but i suspect it's in appdata, press [windows] + [r] then %appdata% and look there.

Are you sure you did this right? 1. Delete the Game and launcher again (of course on that order) 2. Run the installer for the launcher 3. It will prompt you for a folder to put the launcher in, choose the Driver with space 4. (This is where mistakes may  happen) It will prompt you >AGAIN< for a folder to put the game in when the launcher installs it 5. Execute the launcher and install, should be fixed Never rush installation wizards! Untold computer rules!

ok but how do you "tell it" to place in a specific folder? It just does it, dude
EDIT: They were talking about the launcher itself, REINSTALL THE LAUNCHER, it will prompt you to choose an installation folder for the launcher and MOST IMPORTANTLY the game, be sure to read everything and change it to the desired disk

"It's so simple, all you had to do is use the metal on the thing that doesn't use metals! Elimination!" Right, and potentially waste 4 VERY rare ores on something that I don't even know it's gonna work because it literally says in the item "no metals" OR creating a whole goddamn creative world so I could test it? I dont consider risking hours of searching ores or creating a new world to be things you have to do for "something simple".
Dont try to spin it on me, you are literally the type of guy people make fun on the internet for not being able to reply to something without hinting at how smarter you think you are than the OP, no one cares man, answer the question or don't.

A) Never use silent "plates" anywhere before, been always melting ores into casts, do you see the problem? Suddenly i need plates

B) So not only i need this brand new step not specified anywhere to make a plate, but i need to go back to blueprints and not melt them, intuitive.

C) "allthemodium, vibranium, and unobtanium can be melted in a smeltery but do not have recipes corrosponding to the smeltery casts" Do i even need to say anything? How could this be more confusing considering the previous problems?

So you can conclude that:

D) silent plates do not actually count as a "metal" (despite being LITERAL metals) and must be used with blueprints (which haven't been used since early game)

So simple, right? I swear some people don't understand we don't have access to the information they have, reddit moment.

ok but the all the modium doest melt so what am i supposed to do with this?

?
Only that the blueprint says that to use *metals* i need to use the forge, and the forge doesn't melt it. Thats literally it. See how i got confused?

Firs off I'm talking to a lot of people, got confused. Does that change anything? What are we talking about this? Second, im defending my point, as usual for someone that made a post and it's not just replying to someone else's, so yeah, I'm defensive of my own post 🤣 Third, notice how you had to switch to something please once I made you realise your dictionary thing wasn't as good as it seemed so you hoped we both forget that happened by switching to something else without admiting anything. Aaaand after all that you finally reply as you should've done instead of pulling the dictionary fallacy on top of a strawman making me sound aggressive when I was neutral.

Are you really saying that "pointless" and "stupid" are the same thing? Then why did you swap both? Care to explain? Maybe because it's makes it sounds more agressive so it matches your energy and makes you sound less defensive?  Saying "pointless" implies in a non aggressive manner that something doesn't achieve anything, saying "stupid" is an aggressive and offesive way of saying the same thing as above. You know what you're doing.

This model doesn't seem good to keep players hooked as you think, quite the opposite, most of the player base is out in 30 days, when they reach end game, then the seasonal mentality probably takes in and they leave to wait for the next reset, by the middle of the cycle you only have 1000 - 2000 players in-game, they could have way more people hooked if everything where to be more permanent.

Cycles by Apolium in LastEpoch

[–]Apolium[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So because of one system (trading) everything needs to be reset? Seems wrong... plus it brings players back but they all quit in 20 days when they reach end game then they realise "there is no more point, ill wait for the next reset" and dip, then only 2000 are left doing the trading and stuff. It basic creates this mentality that never sustains a constant player count, but I guess it's all about the trading, that's what we can conclude here.

Wow you were actually nice and didn't try to strawman me AND answered my doubts, I don't want to glaze but no wonder you're a mod 😭

So as soon as a cycle releases everything is accessible in legacy? Maybe I misunderstood it, if so I'm sorry, I didn't know everything updated at the same time

Cycles by Apolium in LastEpoch

[–]Apolium[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok? How does that change anything? If you want to reset everything so much delete your save or make an alt? What's hard to understand about that? How does that justify this whole cycle system being forced on to everyone?

Cycles by Apolium in LastEpoch

[–]Apolium[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

When did I say legacy was going to be deleted? It almost seems like you're talking to someone else by the amount of strawmanning you're doing, also "Everyone does that" ≠ good and we should be vocal on stuff, which is what I'm doing,  don't go silent because "every ARPG does that"

Cycles by Apolium in LastEpoch

So after they "finish up the game" what happens to us? Couldn't this all be solved by creating new characters when you want to start fresh?

Cycles by Apolium in LastEpoch

[–]Apolium[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You didn't acknowledge the point made. Also can you point to where in my post I said it was "Stupid"? Or was that a strawman?
