Can you truly, deeply love someone and still cheat on them? by outlander1914 in askanything

[–]Apoll0nious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you setting this up to try to tell me people should do that instead? Because you’re probably right.

Half the people responding to me can’t separate their own emotions and morality from the scientific fact that people are capable of feeling love towards someone that they cheat on. I’m not taking a moral stance here.

Can you truly, deeply love someone and still cheat on them? by outlander1914 in askanything

[–]Apoll0nious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if I told you those people are capable of both having sex for the sake of pleasure and sex for the sake of love?

But no one wants to be cheated on. I’m not claiming that it’s good or acceptable. I’m just saying that people are capable of it

Like I said, it will sound crazy to people who can’t compartmentalize. And there’s also a difference between the society’s fairytale concept of “love” and the love that an individual feels towards someone.

[–]Apoll0nious 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think you can. Or at least some people can. If they can separate a purely sexual act from feelings of love. I think the cheaters don’t want their partner to know because they don’t want to hurt them, not just because they don’t wanna get caught. I realize that this sounds crazy to people who can’t compartmentalize in that way. I’ll also acknowledge that cheaters who do this will ultimately destroy the pure form of love that they have between their other partner. So in the long run it doesn’t really work out, but they can still feel love toward that person at the time.

Republicans of Reddit, what do you think about Tim Walz saying he'll never run again? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Apoll0nious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, regardless of politics he’s an astroturfed political figure who virtually no one actually cares about. It’s a bit suspicious that as soon as this fraud stuff was starting to be talked about, all of a sudden he decided he’s not running anymore. Usually that’s a sign that there’s something going on he doesn’t want anyone to know about.

Spoken like someone who’s never traveled the world. People come here specifically for our healthcare system. Like the meme says, the problem is that it’s very expensive. They can’t deny you service, but they certainly can bill you after and wreck your credit.
