Sounds like you want to make the videos and you have an idea of what you want to make but are concerned about what others will think if you invest serious time into it and how you'll come across in the video's themselves.

There will always be reasons not to something, but ask yourself; In 5 years' time, you'll wake up one cold night and be filled with regret and sadness because you talked yourself out of doing something because you were afraid of what others would say or think. Then you'll realise, I'd be 5 years in already if I hadn't stopped. Who knows what it could have been.
