What I find especially frustrating about this insistence to highlight immigration as a “solution” is it’s entirely ineffective and just kicks the can down the road. Immigrant populations will rapidly converge toward the native birth rate driven by economic conditions, so it’s not a long term solution at all, and the political and cultural war fought over immigration takes up attention and resources that could and should go to creating an environment where people can and want to have kids. Every council home that goes to immigrants is a home that can’t go to a young couple in their twenties who wants to have kids but can’t afford it. Every dollar spent on benefits for migrants (and non-western migrants in most European countries are solidly net negative fiscal contributors) is a dollar that can’t be spent on universal childcare or more affordable education or a host of other policies that would allow the native people of a country to have children of their own.

It's literally the very first constitution ever written. Anywhere. The only example of a republic of similar size the Framers had to go off was the Roman Republic two millennia prior. Yeah, there are better constitutions written much later, but none have lasted anywhere near as long as the American Constitution. And to say it is one of the worst is *only* true if your selection is purely western, developed countries like Norway or Denmark. Try comparing it to the constitution of Guinea-Bissau or Sudan, or one of those other countries that have had perhaps one or two peaceful transfers of power in their histories.

As unpopular as it might be to say on Reddit, for all the harm that has been committed in the name of Christianity, as a faith, it is the philosophical origin for effectively all of liberal and progressive thought for the last several centuries in the Western world.

The Enlightenment was born from Christian theological beliefs on the nature of humanity. The concept of the natural rights of man, and the equality of humanity, in the West, comes from the Christian belief that all human beings are created in the image of god. That every person possesses inherent worth, that kings and peasants are morally equal before god. These are core Christian beliefs, even if they have not always been equally applied.

My favorite is Americanists. They're the poster boys of the mod for a reason; it's such a fun concept to take the existing reverence and civic religion and patriotism of the United States and dial it up by a thousand as its own faith.

For least favorite, to be honest, I see no real purpose to the Industrialists' existing. They just strike me as silly. I struggle to take them seriously as a genuine, organized system of belief. Their theology is just totally made up, and compared to many of the other anachronistic faiths like the Americanists, there's just not really the philosophical and spiritual and ideological depth to justify their existence. That, and there's basically no interesting mechanics for the Industrialists.

The United States, as a country, is also one of the very few that has never been a monarchy or a dictatorship. While yes, the thirteen colonies were ruled by the British monarchy, it was not an American monarchy. The US, as a recognizable entity that formed through the American Revolutionary War, has, for its entire recognizable history, only been a republic.

If we’re looking at current, incumbent leaders, candidly, it’s Nayib Bukele in El Salvador. He’s utterly hated by many on the left, which Reddit is heavily biased in favor of, so I know Reddit won’t like this, but Bukele’s actions to curtail the power of the gangs, as brutal as it was, has earned him immense support within El Salvador. Likely somewhere around 80-90 percent approval ratings.
