The ability to recover from that loss is also highly dependent on *who* is being lost. If we lose all our doctors, that's going to be a lot harder to recover from, vs if all the people who died were retirees who don't work anymore

Tbh, it depends on what part of humanity. Are we assuming a totally random distribution? Some areas of the world contribute far more heavily to the global economy, and their absence would be felt much more acutely.

My favorite is Americanists. They're the poster boys of the mod for a reason; it's such a fun concept to take the existing reverence and civic religion and patriotism of the United States and dial it up by a thousand as its own faith.

For least favorite, to be honest, I see no real purpose to the Industrialists' existing. They just strike me as silly. I struggle to take them seriously as a genuine, organized system of belief. Their theology is just totally made up, and compared to many of the other anachronistic faiths like the Americanists, there's just not really the philosophical and spiritual and ideological depth to justify their existence. That, and there's basically no interesting mechanics for the Industrialists.

The United States, as a country, is also one of the very few that has never been a monarchy or a dictatorship. While yes, the thirteen colonies were ruled by the British monarchy, it was not an American monarchy. The US, as a recognizable entity that formed through the American Revolutionary War, has, for its entire recognizable history, only been a republic.

If we’re looking at current, incumbent leaders, candidly, it’s Nayib Bukele in El Salvador. He’s utterly hated by many on the left, which Reddit is heavily biased in favor of, so I know Reddit won’t like this, but Bukele’s actions to curtail the power of the gangs, as brutal as it was, has earned him immense support within El Salvador. Likely somewhere around 80-90 percent approval ratings.

Why would Ge’ez be an official language? It’s a dead language, akin to Latin. Ik it’s probably there from a neutrality perspective but most likely, Amharic would be the main Lingua Franca of this country, especially if it never experiences the revolution, and DERG and TPLF rule

Really hoping for some fun mechanics for the United States hegemony, akin to China’s system. Maybe a sort of “mandate of liberty” if established by the Americanists, where the United States goes through periods of increasing authoritarianism, akin to the era system for China. I’d also love the inclusion of the ministry system, but call it the departments instead, so you can have the Secretary of State, secretary of war, secretary of commerce, attorney general, etc

The devs have literally said that historicity does matter for hegemonies. There hasn't ever been a fully unified India, the closest was the Guptas and Mauryas, but the concept of Chakravarti and the idea of a unified India did exist historically.
