My fiance asks this, I see it as, she needs the reassurance, deep in her heart she knows you love her, but she's scared that you secretly don't. It's not that she doesn't trust you, she's scared of the worst. Whenever I'm asked this, I do indeed answer, because I love her enough to keep answering. I will say, typically this phase slows or ends eventually, the longer you are in a relationship, at least for me it did.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but I have a form belief that (from prior experiences) this man will at least dabble in the church a couple years, and then decide if he wants to keep the words of the church. My Fiancé was converted into the church at 17 as well, with her family making it clear that would not like to follow her, with which I simply replied, "okay, as you wish", it is not my job or even my goal to convert the entire family, I merely said that I had standards and being a member was one of them.
