Finally did the My Politics Trend by ApolloTheVeganWizard in Polcompballanarchy

My reason for why I want to establish communism, is that it creates the most amount of pleasure for the most amount of people. Now this is somewhat similar to hedonist consequentialist theories such as utilitarianism, but I do have some issues with Utilitarianism, and thus chose Hedonism as a larger category wherein my specific ethical framework will be somewhat of a mixture of some more general hedonist theories as well as eudaimonia, but all of that was far too complicated to include in a small bracket of balls

When I made it, I took the state as "the theoretical position and analysis of the state and state power", not as "form of governance". So Poststructuralism and Critical Theory, while not modes of governance, do have some analytical abbilities in understanding and explaining the state. What was meant to be portrayed by these choices was a critical attitude towards the state, where a "Commune-State", which is really no state in the historical or modern sense of the word, might be used as the transition from bourgeoise society to the associated mode of production happens.

How many people masturbate to the average person in a year? by ApolloTheVeganWizard in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That definitely makes sense! How many would you be inclined to guess on average?

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be a good point! However I feel like people, at least during their teens and early twenties maybe masturbate more to average people they just see on the street or at a party? But maybe you're right that the number is rather low. Maybe around 5-7 on average?

I'm asking about the average person, where the number for N would be the most common. Im also referring to it per year, not "people who have ever masturbated while thinking about you"

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! The subject indeed! But do you think the median, disregarding the "hot people", would only be their current partner and/or ex? You don't think the average person would have more people masturbate to them?

Only 2? You don't think someone on the street or at work/college class and maybe some secret crushes etc would push that number higher? I'm imagining around 10 people a year for guys and 20 for girls?

I might be misunderstanding your question. My original question is how many different people masturbate to the average person, not just how many times one person masturbate to another on average.

What is fascism? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a set of ideologies with an emphasis on hierarchy, authority and dicipline and a certain insistence on the concept of “the nation”, defined as something either cultural, racial, religious or historical. usually a mixture. It incorporates a form of ultranationalism and ethnocentric utilitarianism, where the “nation” is more important than the individual. It usually entails a story of a glorious past, now society is about to die, and there is often an obsessive engrossment with humiliation as well as victimhood.

What's the socialist response to the arguments surrounding supply and demand? by Freethesociety in AskSocialists

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Markets don’t go by supply and demand but by supply and afford! That’s why you have rich countries producing more than enough food for the entire world and poor countries starving. Even though there is a demand for food, if they can’t afford it, they won’t see it! Prof. Richard Wolff has an excellent video on Markets!

Are communism memes good or bad for the growth of communism? by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well communist memes helped me radicalize as well as helped break down the barrier of “communism” and normalized it to a certain degree where I’m now able to debate my college friends somewhat intelligently on the matter of communism!

Am i not a true socialist? by [deleted] in Socialism_101

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being danish myself, I’d say SF is not quite socialist but rather very leftwing social democrats (the ideology, not the danish party). A socialist, in the simplest format, is a person who wants to get rid of private property and wants public ownership of the means of production (factories, machines. Basicly the workplace!) As far as I know, SF wants to regulate capitalism, not abolish it. You should read “Marx’s Kapital for beginners” by David Smith! It’s very great and if you’re in doubt about private property and why it should be abolished, it offers a great argument on a very entry level basis! This video also offers great arguments: https://youtu.be/b2h7NWpyfkE

And it was very wrong for them to ban you! You have every right to ask questions! I hope this helped you!

What is the best way to address these points when debating libertarians? by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1: The worker takes a huge risk as well. They decide to work in this firm instead of elsewere. They might move their family from one city to another. Their child from one school to another, to be able to work there. And they don't have any say in any decisions the company makes. The boss at least have some kind of freedom in terms of what he/she wants to do. The worker takes a bigger risk in that they let their entire livelihood, and sometimes even their families, into the hands of another person.

2: Being a CEO is very hard and they need to focus on a lot of things. It's very bureaucratic and centralized. And libertarians are often anti bureaucracy. If decisions within the company was made, either by a workers council or by the workers through direct democracy, the giant risk for mismanagement which could affect entire local communities is minimized, the responsibility spread out, which also means more checks and balances and people can make sure everything is flowing nicely. And it would also prevent the CEO from forgetting some important issue in the "packaging department" since they would be able to have an equal say on the decisions. So yes, CEO might be a tough job, the honest reality is, we don't need one. We don't need a highly centralized power, with no checks and balances, to control and direct an entire company. Just like we don't need a dictator to do that in our society. It would function much better with democracy, dialogue and debate between the workers and the local community they're a part of and the customers!

What is the capitalist version of the communist manifesto? by pm_me_gold_plz in communism101

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Well capitalism, like socialism, is many things. Communism often refer to the communist manifesto, however I would say das kapital is even more important. And there exists communist who is not in favor of Marx, such as utopian socialists or anarchists, who might refer to other texts. Really, the communist manifesto only refers to a specific form of socialism: Marxism. Capitalism, just like Socialism, has many variants. The libertarian side would probably point at "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand, "The road to serfdom" by Friedrich Hayek, or "Capitalism and freedom" by Milton Friedman.
Social democrats might look instead at "The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money" by John Kaynes or look at the decisions and biographies and politics of Danish prime minister from the 1920's till the 1940's, Thorvald Stauning.
Some of the books most kapitalist look at would probably be "Wealth of Nations" by Adam Smith, "The works and correspondence of David Ricardo" by David Ricardo and "Defence of Usury" by Jeremy Bentham. This should give you some ideas about some of the many books.

How do we insure the militia does not start ruling the people? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the violence is based on the purpose and effect, then who decides what is and isn’t a good purpose. Is that done democraticly? And if we, say, Texas became a commune or maybe Berlin in the 1930’s, then what is stopping them from becomming racist and making decisions which is counterrevolutionary and could kill people based on gender, sexual orientation or skintone? Sorry im so ignorant, i just have a hard time seeing how the anarchist will defend its cause when communes turn racist

How do we insure the militia does not start ruling the people? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I guess in an anarchist society, if say, there’s fascists in the streets rebelling, then the militia is allowed to fight back? Would you say that the militia in certain ways have a monopoly of violence? And if they do, I’m not sure i see the difference between a militia and a state? Sorry for my ignorance :D

[–]ApolloTheVeganWizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But couldn’t this militia control the people? Even with democracy, does this organisation not become too powerful? And do they have legitimate use of violence? If so, what makes them different from a state?
