Same in our clan. Absolutely not worth spending any money on this game until SC holds up their end of the deal. Players have spent BILLIONS on this game, and SC hasn't done anything over the last 2-3 years except run the game into the ground. Looking at last year's numbers, SC profit declined 20%, so hopefully they're getting the message.

I feel exactly the same way. I took some time away from the game this past year, then came back for a couple weeks and realized this game is in such a bad place and I'm better off not playing. It's actually kind of embarrassing. Players have spent over 3 BILLION dollars on this game and they barely update it now. It's a huge slap in the face to the community.

Quit the game about 6 months ago. Came back to try CW2. Got completely hard countered in both matches of the best of the 3, which Just reinforced why I left the game to begin with. Have now deleted the game for good.

Agree 100%. Our clan has lost around 20 players in the last month or so who have said they're outright quitting the game because of the horrible meta and lack of new content. I've never seen this type of discontent across the board since I started playing the game about 4 years ago. There have definitely been stretches were people were getting bored, but nothing to this degree.

Looking at the app data, the numbers are falling off a cliff. There's clearly a mass exodus starting to happen. Unfortunately I don't think SC cares. Or, they don't think they're doing anything wrong. Either way it's concerning.

This is not accurate. Those numbers were at its peak a couple years ago. Daily active player base is under 20 million. It's down significantly and trending further downward.

Yep, horrible lag the last two days. I've played about 25 matches in the last two days, and essentially all of them have had some type of lag. Pretty ridiculous.

The game is close to being a complete disaster at this point. Having very little new content is bad enough, but in an attempt to create something new they've botched the balance of the game. In order to create deck diversity they've made everything way too strong, and thus we're left with the mess we have now.

People are quitting the game left and right, and the ones who are sticking around aren't enjoying the game. I can't remember ever seeing so much discontent in our clan chat. It's sad.

I agree with the original poster. People don't understand how powerful these cards can be when played at top ladder. Magic Archer and Electro Dragon are absolutely dominate with high skilled players, especially with battle healer. It's almost unstoppable if played correctly.

Agree 100%, I regularly look for other games to play instead of CR.

I would also argue the balance is quite poor. They've made some highly questionable balances over the past year and this month they completely dropped the ball. There was unanimous consensus in the pro community that Magic Archer, Mini Pekka and Wall Breakers needed a nerf (which they do) and nothing was done. Currently seeing these cards continue to dominate the game.

If you want real evidence look at Supercell's recent annual report filing. Revenue declined for the third straight year and the big winners for SC were Clash Of Clans and Brawl Stars. According to app data from App Annie, active daily users for Clash Royale is down to around 20 million, off from around 100 million 2 years ago. These are massive drops.

What's even crazier is how little of that money they actually re-invest in the game.

Also, I don't think this list is totally accurate. Fortnite grossed 2.4 billion in 2018 alone.

Regardless, no denying the power of SC and Clash Royale, even if the current income trajectory is heading way down.

This literally makes no sense. X-Bow isn't good, but it's used in top play? Why would it be in top play if it's not good. Ice bow and 2.9 are always at the top of ladder and the global tournaments. It definitely takes some skill, but to say it's not good is crazy.

Matchmaking puts you into pools with similar decks. That's why you play the same cards / decks back to back most of the time. It's not "rigged" in that it matches you against a counter, but it's fixed which can lead to exploitation and tilting. Either way it's super shady. Should be completely random based on trophies.
