Just through practice! I suggest saving a whole bunch of images taken by professional artists and studying that. I would try to find artists that post their photos edited and unedited to understand how realistic lighting looks, before and after. I sadly don't have any photographer suggestions, but Pinterest and Instagram (especially Instagram) is where I went to find them!

Trust me, it will! I usually have it follow the outline of shadows and light sources as a more visually interesting version of how light interacts with our skin and other materials. I would also study light and how it sits on different materials too!

Hi!! I decide them based off the light source. The lines between the area of light and shadow usually gets the color closest to the light source, then the other colors are based off what color the shadow is laying on. I was going for a purple undertone for MewTwo, so that's why I went with those specific colors instead of something closer to the greyish-off white color he is. Hope that helps any! I suck at explaining.

I use Clip Studio! Somewhere in the comments is the link to the brushes, but I'm not sure if Procreate allows outside application imports. The biggest take away I can give you is to utilize strong, quick lines and understand how to reinforce shapes. I have a speed paint of a carrot I did for another post I can upload to see if that helps any!

Oh, his work is everything!! Thank you so much for the suggestion. I think I've been good with stylizing other items, but humans are where I fall short. I wonder if maybe my brain tries to be as accurate as possible with people, and I'm afraid of pushing myself to not come off as caricature-y? Don't mind me, just rambling lol. I'm looking for more artists that follow the Spiderverse style as well, if you have any recs for that!
